Publication: Öğrenen okul ile ilgili özel okul öğretmenlerinin görüşleri üzerine nitel bir çalışma
Abstract
Bu araştırmada, özel okul öğretmenlerinin, öğrenen okul ile görüşleri incelenmiş ve özel okulların öğrenen okul olabilmesi için gerekli olan özellikler ve yapılması gereken uygulamalar belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaca yönelik olarak İstanbul ilinde halen görev yapan ve en az 3 yıllık deneyime sahip 12 öğretmenin görüşlerine başvurulmuştur. Katılımcı öğretmenlerin, görev yapmakta oldukları okulların en az 5 yıllık kurum geçmişine sahip olmasına dikkat edilmiştir. Çalışma grubunu oluşturan öğretmenlerin seçimi amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme ile yapılmıştır. Araştırma verileri, görüşme yöntemiyle ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Görüşme formu geliştirilirken uzman görüşleri alınmış ve pilot uygulamalar yapılarak gerekli düzenlemeler yapılmıştır. Görüşme verileri literatürde kabul gören 5 öğrenen okul disiplini dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Görüşmeler kayıt altına alınmış ve içerik analizi yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda özel okulların öğrenen okul olabilmeleri için gerekli olan çalışmalar hakkında önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Araştırma bulgularına göre, özel okulların öğrenen okul olabilmesi için öğretmenlerin mesleki gelişimlerinin sağlanması gerektiği ve bu kapsamda hizmet içi eğitimlerin artırılması gerektiği tespit edilmiştir. Okullarda karar alma süreçlerine öğretmenlerin dahil edilmesi, güven ortamının sağlanması, öğrenme motivasyonun önündeki engellerin kaldırılması, takım çalışmaları için gerekli ortamların sağlanması ve okul yöneticilerinin sistem yaklaşımına uygun olarak karşılaşılan durumları bütüncül ele alması gerektiği de tespit edilmiştir.
In this study, the views of private school teachers related to the learning school were examined. It has been tried to determine the features required and the practices that should be done for private schools to be learning schools. For the purpose, the opinions of 12 teachers who are still working in Istanbul and have at least 3 years of experience were consulted. The schools in which participating teachers are working have been paid attention to have at least 5 years of institutional background. The selection of the teachers constituting the study group was made with criterion sampling from the purposive sampling methods. Research data were obtained by interview method and using semi-structured interview form. While developing the interview form, expert opinions were taken and necessary arrangements were made by making pilot schemes. Interview data were analyzed by considering 5 learning school disciplines accepted in the literature. The interviews were recorded and analyzed by content analysis method. As a result of the research, suggestions were made about the studies required for private schools to become learning schools. According to the research findings, it has been ascertained that in order for private schools to be learning schools, professional development of teachers should be ensured and in-service training should be enhanced in this context. It has also been determined that teachers should be included in the decision-making processes in schools, provide an environment of trust, remove obstacles to learning motivation, ensure necessary environments for teamwork, and school administrators should consider the situations in a holistic manner in accordance with the system approach.
