Abstract
Vakıflar Osmanlı Devlet’inde iktisadi ve sosyal hayatı etkileyen en önemli kurumlardandır. Çalışmada İstanbul kadı sicilleri, ahkâm defterleri ve vakfiyeler temel kaynaklar olarak kullanılmış, 18. Yüzyıl’da Osmanlı Devleti’nde İstanbul’daki vakıfların beledî hizmetlerine ilişkin bilgiler verilmiştir. Bu bağlamda, vakıfların iktisadî ve toplumsal hayata etkileri üzerinde durulmuştur. Buna ek olarak, vakıf kurma saikleri, vakıfların sürdürülebilirliği, kadılar ve diğer şehir görevlilerinin etkisi değerlendirilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar ile İstanbul üzerinden, vakıfların günümüz belediye hizmetlerindeki iz düşümü tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır.
Waqfs are one of the significant institutions affecting economic and social life in the Ottoman State. In the study, kadi registries, provisions books and articles of waqfs were used as the fundamental sources, and knowledge was provided on the municipal services of waqfs in Istanbul in the Ottoman State in the 18th century. In this context, the effects of waqfs on economic and social life were emphasized. In addition, motives for establishing waqfs, the sustainability of waqfs, the influences of kadi and other city officials were evaluated. With the obtained results, projections of the waqfs in the municipal services were attempted to be determined through Istanbul.
