Publication: Fizik dersinde analoji kullanımının öğrenmeye ve öğrenci başarısına etkilerinin araştırılması
Abstract
Anlamlı öğrenme kişinin yeni edindiği bilgiler ile önceden var olan bilgileri arasında ilişki kurabilmesini sağlayan zihin etkinliklerini gerektirir. Bu ilişkiyi kurabilmenin yollarından birisi de analojilerdir. Bu çalışmada analojilerin (benzeşim) öğrenci başarısına etkileri araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmacılar tarafından oluşturulan, ders kitaplarında bulunan ve öğretmenler tarafından kullanılan analojiler tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu araştırmanın problem cümlesini, Fizik dersinde, analoji kullanımının öğrenmeye ve öğrenci başarısına etkisi var mıdır? sorusu oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde fizik dersinde kullanılabilecek olan analojiler yer almaktadır. Bu analojiler; makalelerden, ders kitaplarından ve fizik öğretmenlerinden derlenmiştir. İkinci bölüm ise; elektrik konularında kullanılan analojilerin öğrenci başarısına ve hatırlamasına etkileri konusunda yapılan araştırmanın uygulanması ve sonuçlarını içermektedir. Araştırma 2000-2001 öğretim yılında İstanbul İli, Maltepe İlçesi, Maltepe Lisesi'nde yapılmıştır. Araştırmaya lise 2. sınıf normal ve süper kısımlarında okuyan toplam 104 öğrenci katılmıştır. 2-A ve A-2 sınıflarına analoji kullanılmadan geleneksel yöntemle, 2-B ve B-2 sınıflarına analoji kullanılarak ders verilmiştir. Verilerin değerlendirilmesi bilgisayar ortamında SPSS/ PC 9.0 for Windows kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda analoji kullanımının öğrenci başarısını ve hatırlamayı olumlu yönde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Deney grubu öğrencilerinin başarılarının daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmanın sonuçları ışığında önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
RESEARCHING THE EFFECTS OF USING ANALOGIES ON LEARNING AND SUCCESS OF STUDENTS IN PHYSICS LESSONS Meaningful learning requires someone to establish relation between former knowledge and new learnt knowledge. One way of achieving this is using analogies. In this study, the effects of teaching with analogies on success of students were researched. In addition, analogies that were created by researchers and used by physics teachers also exists in text books were tried to determine. The main argument of this research was What is the effect of teaching with analogies on learning and success of students in physics lessons? This study contains two main parts. The first section includes some analogies which are very useful for physics lessons. They were collected from articles, text books, and teachers. The second part has the application and results of the research about the effects of using analogies on electric subjects. The research took place in Maltepe High School in İstanbul İn 2000-2001 academic year. Research participants were 104 students from normal and super parts of lise 2nd grade. During the application 2/ A and A/ 2 classes were taught with traditional method; 2/ B and B/ 2 classes were taugh with using analogies. Research data were analyzed by using SPSS/ PC 9.0 for Windows. As a result of the research, it was observed that using analogies affects positively the success and remembering of the students. Success of the experiment group was higher than the control group. Some suggestions were told according to the results of the research.
