Hatay ili hastanelerinde çalışan ameliyathane hemşirelerinin sütür materyallerinin temini, kullanımı ve depolanmasına ilişkin uygulamalarının ve bu alandaki bireysel gelişim süreçlerinin incelenmesi

Abstract

HATAY İLİ HASTANELERİNDE ÇALIŞAN AMELİYATHANE HEMŞİRELERİNİN SÜTÜR MATERYALLERİNİN TEMİNİ, KULLANIMI VE DEPOLANMASINA İLİŞKİN UYGULAMALARININ VE BU ALANDAKİ BİREYSEL GELİŞİM SÜREÇLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ Araştırma Hatay ili hastanelerinde çalışan ameliyathane hemşirelerinin sütür materyallerinin temini, kullanımı ve depolanmasına ilişkin uygulamalarının ve bu alandaki bireysel gelişim süreçlerinin incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini Hatay ili çevresinde bulunan 1 üniversite, 1 asker, 3 özel ve 10 devlet hastanesi olmak üzere toplam 15 hastanede çalışan 128 ameliyathane hemşiresi olarak oluşturmaktadır. Bu hastanelerin hepsine ulaşılması hedeflenmesine karşın 1 asker ve 1 özel hastane kurum onayı alınamadığı için araştırmanın örneklemi olan toplam 13 hastanede çalışan 103 ameliyathane hemşiresi olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verileri bilgi formu kullanılarak, araştırmacı tarafından yüz yüze görüşme yöntemiyle yapılmıştır. Bilgi formunun doldurulmasında ameliyathane hemşireleri ve ameliyathane sorumlu hemşireleri ile görüşülmüştür. Veriler SPSS programında değerlendirilmiş, yüzdelik değerler ve ki-kare testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilere göre, sütür materyallerinin temininde üniversite ve özel hastanelerde ameliyathane hemşirelerinin fikirlerinin alındığı ancak devlet hastanelerinde hemşirelerin bu konuda etkin olmadığı, sütür materyallerinin kullanımın da hatalar yapıldığı, tüm kurumlarda sütür materyallerinin doğru depolanmadığı ve hemşirelerin bireysel gelişim süreçlerine önem verilmediği için bu alanda yeterli bilgi becerilerinin olmadığı saptanmıştır. The Evaluation of Individual Development Process of Nurses Working in Operating Room of Hospitals in Hatay Related to Practices in Assuring, Using and Storing the Suture Materials The aim of this study is to evaluate how the nurses working in operating rooms of hospitals in Hatay city assure, use and store the suture materials and to provide data of their individual development of knowledge in this issue. This prospective study included 128 nurses working in the operating rooms of 1 university, 1 military, 3 private, and 10 state hospitals located in Hatay city. However; data was retrieved from only 103 nurses since we were not be able to collect the data of 23 nurses working in military hospital and one of private hospital which did not approve us to include the data of the nurses working in their own hospitals. The data was documented by using a questionnaire and all interviews were done face to face and all the nurses that were included in this study were working in operating rooms. For statistical analysis, commercially available SPSS was used and we used chi-square test for comparisons. A probability value of less than 0.05 was accepted as significant. Our results demonstrated that the nurses working in operating room in university and private hospitals are consulted when assuring the suture materials but it is not the case in state hospitals. This results in erroneous use of the suture materials in state hospitals. Furthermore, it was also found that the suture materials used in surgical procedures are not stored appropriately in all hospitals and all nurses showed not to have enough knowledge related to suture materials. This may be explained by the policy of the hospital management, which at least we think, that does not provide the care for educating the nurses working in operating room.
