Publication: Yeni Çağ inanışlarına katılım motivasyonunun sosyolojik görünümleri : İzmir örneği
Abstract
Modernleşme seslerinin duyulmaya başlanmasından itibaren birey için modernleşme tecrübesi birçok alanda olanak vaat edeceği toplumsal bir yapı sunacağı düşünülmekteydi. Fakat bu durumun aksine modern dünyada birey birçok sorun ile karşı karşıya gelmiş, toplumsal risklerin getirdiği durumların varlığı ile yüzleşmiş, birey demir kafes içinde kalmış ve kendine yabancılaşma deneyimleri yaşamıştır. Bu süreçler bireyi bir kaçışa bir anlam arayışına itmiştir. Bu kaçış, anlam arayış süreci bireylerin dini yaşamlarının şekillenmesinde etkili olmaya başlamıştır. Küreselleşme deneyimi ile yaygınlık kazanan yeni dini oluşumlar, bireylerin istek ve ihtiyaçlarına göre çeşitlilik gösteren din ve inançlar sunmaya başlamıştır. Küreselleşme ile sınırların şeffaflaşması, Batı toplumlarından New Age hareketi olarak görülmeye başlanan inançların, dinlerin de göç edilebilir bir olgu halini aldığını göstermeye başlamıştır. Bu durumun Türkiye’de de yansımalarını görmek mümkün olmuştur. Giderek yaygınlaşan yoga, meditasyon, biyoenerji, şifa çalışmaları ve yaşam koçluğu gibi uygulamalar popülerleşerek görünürlük kazanmaya başlamıştır. Uygulamalara ve pratiklere yönelik artan kursların ve mekânların varlığı bireyin ilgisini cezbetmiş ve katılım motivasyonunu arttırmıştır. Böylesi bir durumun varlığının toplumsal anlamda yansımalarını görmek kaçınılmaz olacaktır. Genellikle Yeni Dini Hareketler ve New Age Hareketi din bilimleri alanında çalışılmıştır. Fakat toplumsal anlamda görünür olmaya başlayan New Age( Yeni Çağ) inanışları sosyolojik bakış açısını elzem kılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda çalışma İzmir özelinde, nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak kartopu tekniği ile 19 katılımcı bireylere ulaşılmış ve yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat formu kullanılarak derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılım gösteren bireylerden elde edilen bulgular bağlamında katılma motivasyonlarını etkileyen unsurlar ve deneyimleri sosyolojik bir perspektifle değerlendirilerek ortaya koyulmaya çalışmıştır.
Ever since the statements of modernization began to be heard, it was thought that the modernization practice would offer a social structure that would assure many opportunities for the individual. However, contrary to this status, the individual has faced many problems in the modern world, front toward with the existence of situations brought by social risks, the individual has remained in an iron cage and has practiced self-alienation. These processes have repulsed the individual to an escape and a search for meaning. This escape, the search for meaning has begun to be effective in shaping the religious lives of individuals. New religious formations, which have become widespread with the experience of globalization, have begun to present religions and beliefs that vary according to the wishes and needs of individuals. The transparency of borders with globalization has started to indicate that beliefs and religions, which are seen as a New Age movement from Western societies, have also become a migratory phenomenon. It has been possible to see the repercussions of this situation in Turkey as well. Practices such as yoga, meditation, bioenergy, healing practices, and life coaching, which are becoming more and more widespread, have become popular and become widespread. The presence of increasing courses and venues for practices has attracted the interest of the individual and increased the motivation to participate. It will be inevitable to see the social reflections of the existence of such a situation. Generally, New Religious Movements and New Age Movements have been studied in the field of religious sciences. However, the New Age beliefs, which have begun to be visible in the social sense, make the sociological perspective essential. In this context, in Izmir specific to the study, 19 participant individuals were reached with the snowball technique using the qualitative research method, and in-depth interviews were conducted using the semi-structured interview form. In the context of the findings obtained from the individuals participating in the study, the factors affecting their motivation to participate and their experiences were evaluated from a sociological perspective.
