Abstract

Eylem Resmi, 20.yy. resim sanatındaki ve Amerikan Soyut Dışavurumculuğu’ndaki en önemli eğilimlerin başında gelmektedir. II. Dünya Savaşı sonrası, Avrupa’da faşizmin baskısı ve savaş tehdidi sürerken, gerek göçmen sanatçılar, gerekse Amerikalı yeni kuşak sanatçılar özgün sanat dilleri yaratarak Amerika’yı dünyanın önemli bir sanat merkezi konumuna getirmişlerdir. En önemli temsilcileri Jackson Pollock ve Willem de Kooning olan Eylem Resmi de, resim sanatına birçok yeniliği kazandırmakla beraber; sanatın merkezi konumunun Paris’ten New York’a geçmesinde de başrolü üstlenmiştir. Çalışmada, Eylem Resmi, sanatsal etkenler başta olmak üzere; sosyolojik, ekonomik ve psikolojik etkenler göz önünde bulundurularak değerlendirilmektedir. 50’lere damgasını vurmuş olan eğilim üzerine oluşturulmuş tüm düşünceler, geniş bir perspektiften ele alınarak, yorumlanmaktadır. Bu çalışma Eylem Resmi’nin sanat tarihindeki önemini vurgulamakla birlikte, günümüzden eğilime yeni bir bakış açısı ile ışık tutmayı amaçlamaktadır.

Action Painting is one of the most important attitudes in 20th century art and American Abstract Expressionism. After World War II, while the threat of oppression of fascism and war continued in Europe, both immigrant artists and a new generation of American artists turned America into an important art center of the world by creating inventive arts. Action Painting, whose most important artists are Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning, took the leading role in transferring the location of the art center of the world from Paris to New York, as well as making innovative contributions to the art of painting. In thesis, Action Painting is evaluated by taking foremost artistic, then economical and psychological factors into consideration. All thoughts which were created upon trends that marked the 1950’s, are interpreted through a wide perspective. This work intends to illuminate a new point of view to Action Painting with a look of today, as well as emphasizing the importance of it in the history of art.
