Abstract
The belief that a person descended from the Prophet's lineage will eventually rule before the Day of Judgment and bring justice to the world, which is bubbled up with oppression, is one of the subjects in Islamic sources. Muslims' belief in al-Mahdi is essentually based on the hadiths transmitted from the Prophet. These hadiths have kept their freshness in every period from the first periods to the present day and have been discussed upon from different aspects. These hadiths, which were included in the narration books of the first five centuries, have also been the subject of many independent studies in the fifth (XI) century and afterwards. When it comes to the modern period, it has been determined that many studies have been done about al-Mahdi, both for and against. In the first part of the research, the literature related to the Mahdi has been examined under three main headings. The first title is the authors and their works who conveyed the narrations under the separate title in the first five centuries, the second title is the authors and their works, who wrote independent works on the subject between the V-X (XI-XVI) centuries and under the last title, the works written from the X. (XVI) century to the present are examined. The hadiths of al-Mahdi have been studied by many scholars, some accepted them as authentic and transmitted them, while others concluded that they are mutawatir. There are also numerous narrations of the weak and fabricated sorts. In this research, in addition to the literature on al-Mahdi, 18 narrations used as evidence by Ahl al-Sunnah scholars concerning al-Mahdi have been examined, and as a result of the analysis, it has been determined that 12 of them are sound/ hassan and 6 of them were weak
