Samsun Arkeoloji ve Etnografya Müzesi'nde bulunan Osmanlı dönemi sikkeleri (16. yy.-20. yy.)

Abstract

Sikke, devletlerin her döneminde hükümdarların, iktidarların, maddi ve kültürel sembolü durumundadır. Üzerlerinde taşıdıkları yazılar, motifler darp edildikleri dönemin üslubunu, inanış biçim ve şekillerini yansıtmaktadırlar. Bu bağlamda, Tarih, Sanat, Dinler Tarihi, Filoloji ile Sanat Tarihi bilim dallarına önemli katkılar sağlaması bakımından ve kesin bilgiler sunması açısından somut bir belge niteliği taşımaktadırlar.Samsun Arkeoloji ve Etnografya Müzesi’nde bulunan 16. yy. ile 20. yy. arasındaki Osmanlı Dönemi sikkeleri araştırmasında, müze envanterinde bulunan 24 adet sikke incelenmiştir. Sikkeler seçilirken, birbirlerinden farklı örnekler olmasına dikkat edilmiştir. Kronolojik olarak ele alınan sikkelerin katalog bölümünde transkribi yapılmış ölçüleri alınmış, malzeme ve süsleme özellikleri ayrıntılı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Osmanlı İmparatorluğuna hükümdarlık yapmış 36 padişahın 14’ ünün sikkesi müze koleksiyonunda bulunmaktadır. Sikkelerin en erken tarihli olanı I. Süleyman ( Kanuni ) döneminde H. 926/ M. 1520 tarihinde, en geç tarihli olanı ise V. Mehmed ( Reşad )döneminde H. 1327/ M.1909 tarihinde darp edilmiştir.İnceleme sonucunda elde edilen verilere göre; darp tarihi, darp yeri, malzeme, yazı, tuğra ve süsleme özellikleri açısından sikkelerin değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Padişah değiştikçe sikkelerin tipolojisinin değiştiği görülmüştür. Yapılan bu çalışmanın Osmanlı sikkeleri araştırmalarına katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Coin is cultural and tangible symbol of emperors and potencies in the every age of the governments. The scripts and the motifs on it, reflect the style and the belief types from the periods that they were pounded up. Within the frame of this context, coin has qualification in terms of presenting certain information and contributing some sciences such as history, art, history of religions, filology and art history. In the research of “16. – 20. Century Ottoman Era Coins” which was carried on Samsun Archeology and Etnography museum, 24 diffrent coin types located in the museum inventory was examined. While choosing the coins, the researchers paid special attention to choose the coins as different samples from one another. In the catalogue section the coins were handled chronogically, their transcripts were carried out, the sizes were measured and material and adornment features were evaluated. 16 out of 36 sultâns’ coins of Ottoman Empire can be found in the collection of the museum. The coin with the earliest date was pounded up in I. Süleyman (Kanuni) period. H. 926/ M. 1520. The coin with the latest date was pounded up in the period of V. Mehmed (Reşad) H. 1327/ M.1909According to the results of the datas; the coins were evaluated according to their pounding date, pounding place, material, script, sultân’s signature and adornment features. This research is thought to contribute the following researches of Ottoman’s coins.
