Okul öncesi 5 yaş çocukları için eğitici drama temelli okula uyum programının değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, 5 yaş çocuklarının okula uyum sürecinde yaşayabileceği güçlüklerin araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen ve uygulanan uyum olduğunca aza indirilmesi ve çocukların okul uyumlarının yüksek düzeyde olmasının sağlanması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim yılında İstanbul İli, Ataşehir Küçükbakkalköy ilçesinde, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı Kemal Berktan Ortaokulu Anasınıflarına devam eden çocuklar arasından deney ve kontrol gruplarına tesadüfi atama yöntemiyle seçilen 5 yaş (60-68 ay) grubu 60 çocuk (20 kız, 40 erkek) oluşturmuştur. Her grupta 30'ar çocuk yer almıştır (20 erkek, 10 kız). Araştırma için verilerin toplanması, deney ve kontrol gruplarının oluşturulması, çocuklarla ilgili Demografik Bilgiler Formu doldurulması ve 5-6 Yaş Çocukları İçin Okul Uyumu Öğretmen Değerlendirme Ölçeği ön testinin yapılması, programın uygulanması, son test ve izleme testlerinin yapılması şeklinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Deney grubundaki çocukların okul uyumlarının daha ileri düzeyde sağlanması için ise araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan program uygulanmıştır. Çalışma öncesinde araştırmaya dahil olan deney ve kontrol gruplarındaki tüm çocuklara ön test olarak 5-6 Yaş Çocukları İçin Okul Uyumu Öğretmen Değerlendirme Ölçeği (Önder ve Gülay, 2010) uygulanmıştır. Deney grubunda 3 haftalık (15 oturum) eğitici drama temelli okula uyum uygulanmış, kontrol grubunda ise sadece diğer bazı oyun ve drama etkinlikleri uygulanmıştır. Bu uygulamaların ardından 5-6 Yaş Çocukları İçin Okul Uyumu Öğretmen Değerlendirme Ölçeği her 2 gruba da son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Son testten 2 hafta sonra çocukların okula uyum düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla kalıcılık (izleme) testi olarak 5-6 Yaş Çocukları İçin Okul Uyumu Öğretmen Değerlendirme Ölçeği bir kez daha uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda eğitici drama temelli okula uyum alan çocukların okulu sevdikleri, işbirlikli katılımın arttığı, okuldan kaçınma davranışının azaldığı ve kendi kendini yönetme becerilerinin geliştiği, diğer bir değişle uygulanan programın etkili olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Eğitici drama temelli okula uyum programına katılmayan çocukların program süresince üç hafta sonunda, programa dahil olmasalar da süreç içerisinde ilerleme kat ettikleri söylenebilir. Her iki grubun (deney ve kontrol) öntest- sontest puan ortalamaları karşılaştırıldığında deney grubundaki çocukların okula uyum düzeylerinin kontrol grubundan daha yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. In this research, it was aimed to gain a high level of schools adjusmentand minimize the anticipated problems that can raise due to the adjustment period for the schools of 5 years old children by the orientation program, which was developed and applied by the researcher. The working group of the research consisted of a randomly selected 60 children (20 girls and 40 boys) at the age of 5 (60-68 months), which were kindergarden children in Kemal Berktan Ortaokulu during 2013-2014 education yer, in Küçükbakkalköy, İstanbul. Each group consisted of 30 kids. Experimental and control groups consisted of 30 children (20 boys, 10 girls). The research was done by creating the experiment and control groups, distributing Demographic Data Form and administering Teacher Rating Scale of School Adjusment for 5-6 years-old (Önder & Gülay, 2010) children as pretests, application the program post tests and follow up tests. In the experiment group, the program that was developed by the researcher was applied to improve the kids' school adjustments. Some other activities were applied to children in the control group. Before the the researcher's program implementation, Teacher Rating Scale of School Adjustment for 5-6 years-old kids (Önder & Günay, 2010) was applied to both the experiment and control groups in the experiment group, an adjustment program based on educational drama was implemented for three weeks. In the control group, only some other games and educational drama activities were implemented. After the experiment, Teacher Rating scale of School Adjustment for 5-6 years-old children was used for both groups in order to evaluate kids' adjustments to the school and monitor the sustainability, the Teacher Rating of School Adjustment for 5-6 years-old children were to applied after 2 weeks. As results of the research, it can be said that the kids, which the drama-based school adjustment program was implemented, like school more, cooperate more, be abstent less and improve their self-control skills.Therefore, the adjustment program can be said to be effective. The kids to which the drama-based school adjustment program was not implemented, also came along after three weeks. When compared the average of pre-tests and post-tests results of the both groups (Experiment and Control), it was seen that the school adjustment of the kids in the experiment group was higher than the control group. In accordance, the educational drama-based school adjustment program implemented to the experiment group can be said to be more effective than the regular program with daily activities.
