ONDOKUZ MAYIS ÜNİVERSİTESİ KURUPELİT KAMPÜSÜ_x000D_ ÖĞRENCİ HARCAMALARININ ATAKUM İLÇESİNİN_x000D_ EKONOMİSİNE KATKISI

Abstract

Kurulduğu sahalara çeşitli alanlarda fayda sağlayan üniversiteler, eğitim fonksiyonlarının yanı sıra önemlibir yatırım aracı olarak da görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Kurupelit Kampüsü’ndekifakültelerde eğitim gören öğrencilerin, 2019-2020 eğitim ve öğretim döneminde Atakum ilçesine yapmışoldukları ekonomik katkı araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada ayrıca öğrencilerin harcama gruplarına göre bütçesindenaylık ne kadar harcadığı ve bu harcamaların bütçe içerisindeki oranları belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın yapılabilmesiiçin gerekli olan veriler 386 öğrenciye anket uygulanarak temin edilmiş ve elde edilen bu verilerin analizi SPSS20.0 programı kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin aylık bütçeleri içerisinde en fazlaharcama yaptıkları üç alanın kira/konut, gıda ve haberleşme/ulaşım olduğu saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin aylıkortalama geliri 923,57 TL, aylık ortalama harcamalarının ise 916,45 TL olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Kampüsteki11 fakültede bulunan toplam 29.702 öğrencinin Atakum ilçesine yıllık yaklaşık olarak 238.892.800 TL katkısağladığı belirlenmiştir. Bu miktar ilçe ekonomisi için oldukça önemli bir meblağ olmasına rağmen, Atakumekonomisi içerisindeki önemini kaybetmektedir. Bunun nedeni ise Atakum’un son yıllarda yaşadığı hızlı gelişmeye bağlı olarak yoğun göç alması ve bu göçlere bağlı olarak ilçenin ekonomik hacminin üniversitedenbağımsız olarak büyümesidir. İlçedeki bu ekonomik büyüme nedeniyle öğrencilerin ilçe ekonomisine olankatkılarının oranı giderek azalmaktadır

Universities, which benefit the fields in which they are established in, are seen as an important investment_x000D_ tools as well as their educational functions. In this study, the economic contributions of the students studying at_x000D_ the faculties of Ondokuz Mayıs University Kurupelit Campus to the Atakum district in the 2019-2020 academic_x000D_ year were investigated. In the study, how much the students spend monthly from their budget according to_x000D_ their expenditure groups and the ratio of these expenditures within the budget were determined. The data_x000D_ required for the study were obtained by applying a questionnaire to 386 students and the analysis of these data_x000D_ was made using the SPSS 20.0 program. As a result of the research, it was determined that the three areas that_x000D_ students spend the most in their monthly budgets are rent/housing, food and communication/transportation._x000D_ It has been determined that the average monthly income of the students is 923.57 TL and their monthly average_x000D_ expenditure is 916.45 TL. It has been also been determined that a total of 29,702 students in 11 faculties on the_x000D_ campus contribute approximately 238,892,800 TL annually to Atakum district. Despite it is a very important_x000D_ amount for the economy of the district, it loses its importance in Atakum’s economy. The reason for this is that_x000D_ Atakum has received intense immigration due to the rapid development it has experienced in recent years, and_x000D_ the economic volume of the district has grown independently from the university because of the migration. Due_x000D_ to this economic growth in the district, the rate of students’ contribution to the district’s economy is gradually_x000D_ decreasing.
