Batılılaşmanın Sosyo-Kültürel Parodisi: ARABA SEVDASI

Abstract

Ortaçağ karnaval yaşamından günümüze kadar parodi önemli bir halk mizah biçimi ve yazınsal yöntem olarak kullanılır. Parodi, sosyal ve yazınsalalanlarda görülen aksaklıkların giderilmesine mizah ve eleştiri yoluyla katkısağlar. Araba Sevdası’nda Batılılaşma çerçevesinde ortaya çıkan sosyal vekültürel değişimler parodik bir biçimde ele alınır. Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem,içinde bulunduğu topluma eleştirel gözle bakarak, Bihruz Bey’in şahsındaironik biçimde dönemin aydın tipi ve batılılaşmanın yüzeyselliğiyle alay eder.Diğer taraftan kültürel alanda yazarların Batı medeniyeti karşısındaki durumlarının parodisini yaparak romanını metin, tür ve üslup parodisine dönüştürür.Bu nedenle Araba Sevdası parodik bir roman olma niteliği taşır.

Parody has been used as an important type of folk humor and a literary method since the times of medieval carnival life. It contributes to solving the problems in social and literary fields through humor and criticism. In Araba Sevdası, the social and cultural changes emerging during Westernization are dealt with in a parodic way. With a critical approach to the society of his time, Recaizade Mahmud Ekrem ironically makes sarcasm of the intellectual model of the period and the superficiality of westernization through Behruz Bey - the main character of the novel. In other respects, by parody of the situation of the authors in cultural field in the face of the western civilization, he turns his novel into a text, type and style parody. Therefore, Araba Sevdası has the characteristics of a parodic novel.
