İkinci Meşrutiyet’in ilk yıllarında din-bilim-medeniyet kavramları arasındaki ilişkiler (1908-1914)

Abstract

Çalışma üç bölümden meydana gelmektedir. Giriş bölümünde İkinci Meşrutiyet ve düşünce hayatı incelenmiştir. İkinci Meşrutiyet döneminin düşünce hayatının kökleri, siyasi ve fikri akımlar, önemli fikir adamları, Batı felsefe akımlarının düşünce hayatı üzerindeki etkileri ele alınan konulardır. Giriş bölümünde İkinci Meşrutiyet döneminde savunulan fikirlerin hangi fikri zemin üzerinde ortaya konulduğu incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Birinci bölümde Osmanlı Devleti'nde bilim anlayışındaki gelişmeler, ilim ve fen kavramları, bu kavramların İkinci Meşrutiyet döneminde düşünce hayatına yansıması ele alındı. İlimler sınıflaması, ilim kavramına atfedilen değerler, din-bilim ilişkisi, felsefe bilim ilişkisi dönemin yazarlarının eserlerine baş vurularak incelenen diğer konulardır. Bu bölümde İkinci Meşrutiyet'te ilim ve fen kavramlarının önem kazandığı ortaya kondu. İkinci bölümde medeniyet kavramı üzerinde duruldu. Civilisation kavramının tarihi süreç içersinde geçirdiği anlam değişmeleri ele alınarak bu kavramın Osmanlı düşüncesi üzerindeki etkileri araştırıldı. Terakki fikrinin menşei, terakkinin gerekliliği, terakkiye engel olan hususlar, terakki ve taklid, İslâm medeniyeti, Batı medeniyeti, Osmanlı Devleti'nin ve İslam medeniyetinin gerilemesinin nedenleri dönemin yazarlarının eserlerine baş vurularak tahlil edildi. İkinci bölümde medeniyet kavramına İkinci Meşrutiyet yazarlarının bakış açısı incelenmeye çalışıldı. Çalışma İkinci Meşrutiyet'in ilk yıllarında din-bilim-medeniyet kavramları arasında sıkı bir ilişkinin var olduğunu örnek metinler vasıtasıyla ispat etmeye çalışmıştır. The Relationship the Concepts Religion, Sicience and Cvilization in the early Years of Ikinci Meşrutiyet (1908-1914)

This study has three parts. In the introduction section, the topic is Ikinci Meşrutiyet and the intellectual life at the time. Sipecifically, I hava looked at the sources of the intellectual life at tahat time, political and cultural trends, major thinkers, the influence of Western philosophical schools on the intellectual life of that period. Furthermore, I attempted to determine the ground on which the discussions in the second chapter are based. In the first chapter, the developments in the conception of science in the Otaman state, concepts of science and arts, and their reflection in the intellectual life of the period made up the issues of my discussion. Other topics that are dealt with in this chapter are classification of sciences, the values that the concept of science acquired, and the relationship between religion and science and between philosophy and science as discussed by the salient thinkers of period. I have established, in this chapter, that the concepts of sicience and arts have become very important. In the second chapter, I have discussed the conception of civilization. I have discussed the changes that the conception of civilization has undergone throughout history, and its influences on the Ottoman thought. Via the Works of major thinkers of that period, I tried to identify the origin of idea of progress, to relate discussions on whether progress is something wanted, on the elements preventing it, on the relationship between progress and blind imitation, and on the nature of Islamic civilization and Western civilization. In this chapter, I tried to identify the perspective of authors from the period of Ikinci Meşrutiyet concerning conception of civilization. This work constitutes an attempt to show that is a strong connection among the concepts of religion, science and civilization in the early years of Ikinci Meşrutiyet
