Deneysel giysi tasarımında biyomateryallerin olanakları

Abstract

20. yüzyıl ile sanat ve tasarım alanlarında izlendiği gibi giysi tasarımında da farklı olana ulaşmak adına işlevselliğin yanı sıra, deneysel yaklaşımın ve sanatsal anlatımın ön plana çıktığı yeni bir dilin oluşmaya başladığı görülmektedir. Teknolojinin gelişimiyle farklı bilim dalları arasında oluşan etkileşimler, geleneksel tekstil üretim tekniklerine ve malzeme olgusuna yenilikler getirerek giysi tasarımında deneysel yaklaşıma yaratıcı yeni boyutlar kazandırmıştır. 21. yüzyıla gelindiğinde geliştirilen hayvansal ve bitkisel materyaller günümüz tasarım anlayışını yeni bir platforma taşıyarak sürdürülebilirlik kavramı altında biyomateryal kullanımını gündeme getirmiştir. Geliştirilen biyomateryaller ile sürdürülebilir, yenilikçi ve yaratıcı tasarımların hayata geçirilmesi hedeflemektedir. Genel bir yaklaşım ile tezin giriş, gelişme ve sonuç olarak kurgulanan bölümlerinde ilk olarak giriş sonrasında ikinci bölüm konuya dair genel tanımlamalar, üçüncü bölümde ise deneysel giysi tasarımını etkileyen faktörler üzerinde durulması planlanmıştır. Dördüncü bölüm, erken örneklerden günümüze giysi tasarımında deneysel yaklaşımlar başlığı altında tarihsel süreç içerisinde teknolojinin etkisiyle sürekli bir gelişim içinde olan ve çağa ayak uydurmak adına içeriğinde farklılıklara giden giysi tasarımının, teknik, malzeme, kavram ve etkide 21. yüzyıl içerisindeki etkileşimleri üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmanın beşinci bölümü biyotasarım ve biyomateryal başlığı altında dünyada var olan kaynakların giderek tüketilmesi, maliyetlerin artması gibi nedenlerle tasarımcıların disiplinlerarası anlayış ile yeni materyal arayışlarına yönelmeleri ve bunun geleceğin giysi tasarımlarını nasıl biçimlendireceği üzerinden planlanarak yürütülmüştür. Bu bölümde çevre kirliliğine ve kaynakların etkin kullanımına katkıları nedeniyle tekstilde biyomateryallere yönelik arayışlar üzerinde durulmuştur. Altıncı bölümünde ise konu kapsamında bireysel olarak üretilen deneysel giysi tasarımı çalışmalarım yer almaktadır. Yedinci bölüm olan sonuç ile çalışma tamamlanmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, yeniyi yaratma sürecinde sıklıkla başvurulan deneysel tasarım yaklaşımını, bu alışılmışın dışında yeni olanaklar sunan biyotasarım alanı ve biyomateryaller perspektifinden değerlendirerek süreç, malzeme, form, biçim-içerik birlikteliği, üretim yöntemleri, işlev, giysi-beden ve temsil gibi ilişkiler bakımından sorgulamaktır.

In the 20th century, it is seen that a new language has begun to emerge in which experimental approach and artistic expression come into prominence as well as functionality, in order to reach the different in clothing design, as it was felt in art and design fields. The interactions that happened between different fields of science with the advancement in technology have provided new functional and creative dimensions to experimental approaches in clothing design by bringing innovations to traditional textile production techniques and material concepts. Animal and plant materials developed in the 21st century have brought forward the use of biomaterials under the concept of sustainability by carrying the present design mentality to a new platform. It aims to implement sustainable, innovative, and creative designs with biomaterials that have been developed. With a general approach, in the chapters of the thesis that is designed as introduction, development, and conclusion, it is planned to focus firstly on the general definitions of the subject in the second chapter after the introduction and the factors affecting the experimental clothing design in the third chapter. In the fourth chapter, under the title of experimental approaches in clothing design from early examples to the present, the interactions of clothing design, which has been in constant development with the influence of technology in the historical process and has changed in its content in order to keep up with the times, in the 21st century in technique, material, concept, and effect are emphasized. The fifth part of the study will be carried out under the title of biodesign and biomaterial, by planning the designers’ tendency to search for new materials with an interdisciplinary mentality and how this will shape the clothing designs of the future, due to reasons such as the gradual consumption of resources in the world and the increase in costs. In this chapter, the search for biomaterials in textiles will be emphasized due to their contribution to environmental pollution and the effective use of resources. In the sixth section, there will be my experimental clothing design works that are produced individually within the scope of the subject. The study is completed with the conclusion, which is the seventh chapter. The study aims to question the experimental design approach, which is frequently referred to in the process of creating innovation, by evaluating it from the perspective of the biodesign field and biomaterials, which offer new unusual possibilities, in terms of relations such as process, material, form, style-content unity, production methods, function, clothing-body, and representation.
