20. yy. başlarında Osmanlı sosyal ekonomik hayatında kadın cemiyetleri ; Osmanlı Müdafaa-i Hukuk-ı Nisvan cemiyeti örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı II. Meşrutiyet döneminde Osmanlı sosyal ekonomik hayatında kadının konumunu Osmanlı Müdafaa-i Hukuk-ı Nisvan Cemiyeti ve onun yayın organı olan Kadınlar Dünyası mecmuası ışığında ele almaktır. İlk bölümde Osmanlı'daki kadınların değişim sürecinde çalışma hayatındaki yerlerini analiz etmek adına Tanzimat dönemi kadınlarının sosyal ekonomik hayatına kısaca değinilmiştir. Devamında çalışma dönemimiz olan 20. yüzyıl başlarında Osmanlı kadınlarının eğitim, sağlık ve sanayi sektörlerindeki istihdam alanları ayrı ayrı incelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde modernleşmenin yarattığı hürriyet ortamında, cemiyetleşme süreci değerlendirilerek kadın cemiyetleri amaçları doğrultusunda analiz edilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde diğer kadın cemiyetlerinden ayrı bir öneme sahip olan Osmanlı Müdafaa-i Hukuk-ı Nisvan Cemiyeti ve kendi yayın organı olan Kadınlar Dünyası doğrultusunda, dönemin kadınınlarının sosyal ve ekonomik hayatta yer alma mücadeleleri değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. ABTRACT The purpose of this study is to examine the status of women in Ottoman social and economic life during the Second Constitutional Era in light of the The Ottoman Women's Rights Society and its journal World of Women. The first chapter briefly touches upon the social and economic life of women in the Reform Era (Tanzimat) to help analyze the evolving status of women's work life during the Ottoman Empire. Next, employment of Ottoman women at the beginning of the 20th century in the education, health, and industry sectors is examined. The second chapter analyzes the goals of women's societies and the process of organizing such societies, a process which was facilitated by modernization's creation of liberty. The third chapter examines the struggle to integrate women into social and economic life by the Ottoman Women's Rights Society, which, along with its own publication World of Women, played a uniquely important role compared to other women's societies.
