Abstract
Bağımsız direktörler bir finansal kurumun aşırı risk almasını önlemede, daha fazla gelir pahasına olsa da önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu durum farklı kültürel yapılarda farklı bir şekilde algılanabilir. Bazı kültürler bu kişileri finansal kurumun ve sistemin sağlığı açısından bir kontrol noktası olarak görürken bazıları ise bunları sadece işleri engelleyen bir yapı olarak algılayabilirler. Bu araştırma bağımsız direktörlerin algılanışını farklı kültürlerden kıdemli yöneticilerin düşünceleriyle karşılaştırmaktadır.

This issue may be perceived differently in different cultural contexts. Some cultures may see them as control points for the sound operation of the financial institution and the system, whereas some cultures may see them as challenging business blockers. This research compares the perception of independent directors by the senior executives from different countries. Opinions regarding the self-culture and the perception of independent directors have been analyzed in factor analysis together with a correlation analysis. The results show that culture and the perception of independent directors have very limited correlation, which can be due to the fact that financial sector is heavily regulated with standard legislation in different countries, and it is one of the most globalized business lines. ndependent directors, culture, corporate governance, finance
