Publication: “Tüketim olgusu”nun tarihsel dönüşümü (sembolik toplum yaklaşımı çerçevesinde bir analiz denemesi)
Abstract
“TÜKETİM OLGUSU”NUN TARİHSEL DÖNÜŞÜMÜ (SEMBOLİK TOPLUM YAKLAŞIMI ÇERÇEVESİNDE BİR ANALİZ DENEMESİ) Bu çalışmada, tarihsel süreç içinde dönüşüm geçiren “tüketim olgusu” analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Tüketim, bir etkinlik biçimi olarak iktisadi süreklilik içinde yer alan diğer etkinliklerle birçok bakımdan ilişkili olmasının yanında, toplumsal yaşam içinde yer alan ilişkileri yansıtabilen ve toplumsal ilişkilere etki edebilecek nitelikler taşıyan bir olgudur. Dolayısıyla bu çalışmada tüketim, sadece iktisadi bir etkinlik olmasının ötesinde, tarihsel akış içinde toplumsal ilişkilere yön veren aynı zamanda onlara etki edebilen tarafları da dikkate alınarak analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Belirli bir toplumsal olguyu böyle bir çerçeve içinde ele alma uğraşında, topluma, bireye, toplumsal etkinlik ve ilişkilere dönük kuramsal bir altyapı oluşturmak gerekmiştir. Bu noktadan hareketle ise analiz, sembolik toplum yaklaşımı temel alınarak ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışmada Batı Avrupa toplumlarında yaklaşık olarak XII. yy.’dan, XVIII. yy.’a kadar geçirilen süreç incelenmiş; bu döneme özgü dinamikler kapsamında tüketim olgusunun dönüşümüne etki eden faktörler açığa çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Kuramsal çerçevenin sağladığı açılımlar sayesinde, geçirilen dönüşümün toplumsal etkileşim sürecine giren unsurlardan birisi olarak, tarihsel akış üzerindeki muhtemel yansımaları da tartışılabilir hale gelmiştir. Böylelikle, çalışma kapsamında odaklanılan süreç içinde tüketim olgusunun dönüşümüne etki eden dinamikler ortaya konulurken, aynı zamanda dönüşen tüketim olgusu ile feodal yapının çözülmesi ve toplumsal bir sistem olarak kapitalizmin ortaya çıkış dinamikleri arasındaki çeşitli bağlantılar ortaya konulabilmiştir.
THE HISTORICAL TRANSFORMATION OF “CONSUMPTION FACT” (AN ANALYSIS BASED ON THE SYMBOLIC SOCIETY APPROACH) In this study, the consumption fact that transforms through the historical process has been tried to be analyzed. Besides as a kind of activity that is in many directions related with the other activities taking part in economic continuity, consumption is a fact that can reflect and also effect the relations taking part in society. Therefore in this study, the consumption has been tried to be analyzed based not only on its appereance in economic process, but also on its several influences concerned with social relationships. While trying to make a research about a specific social fact such as consumption, first of all a particular perspective and a sub-structure had to be formed regarding society, individual, social activities and relationships. Thus, the analysis had been created based on the symbolic society approach. In this thesis, West European societies of the period, approximately between XIIth and XVIIIth centuries, had been examined. In this way the dynamics related to the transformation process of the consumption, had been tried to be explained in detail. As a factor involved in the social interaction process, the transformation of consumption and the several reflections, consequences on the historical and social practice of it, became arguable with the expansions of the theorical sub-structure had provided. Therefore, they both became possible to present the influential dynamics of the period focused on in this study. The several relations between the transformation process, the destruction of the feudal structure and the arising of capitalism as a social system are presented, as well.
