Sayyâdiyye’nin bu coğrafyada yeniden yaygınlık kazanmasının, XIX.asırda Anadolu’da Seyyid Abdullah el-Hâşimî ve İstanbul’da Ebu’l-Hüdâ Efenditarafından temsil edilen silsileler vasıtasıyla gerçekleştiği tespit edilmiştir. “Rifâî-Sayyâdiyye’de Usûl ve Erkân” başlığını taşıyan son bölümde, önceSeyyid Ahmed es-Sayyâd’ın tarikat usûlü hakkında yazdıkları nakledilmiş, daha sonraRifâî fütüvvetnâmelerine dayanılarak XIX. asırda Anadolu ve İstanbul’da tatbik edilenerkân, Rifâiyye’ye has kisveler, Rifâî meydanının tefrişatı ve Rifâî âyini hakkında bilgilerverilmiştir.
The dissertation deals with one of the branches of the Rifâiyya order, namelySayyâdiyya, and consists of four chapters. The first chapter named as “The life of SayyidIzzaddîn Ahmad al-Sayyâd”, surveys the life of the master of the branch, Ahmad as-Sayyâd. By doing so, it shows his notable role in the expansion of the Rifâiyya order anddisplays that the expansion process of the Sayyâdiyya branch in a larger geography hadalready started at the time of his life. The second chapter named as “The mystical aspects of Sayyid Izzaddîn Ahmadal-Sayyâd and the Sayyâdiyya Branch”, investigates and analyses the existing workswritten in verse and prose that attributed to Sayyid Ahmad al-Sayyâd and than providesinformation about his order lineage, successors and dervishes. The third chapter named as “Sayyâdiyya in Anatolia and Istanbul”, attempts totrace the transition of the Sayyâdiyya to Anatolia and ascertains that the first Sayyâdî inAnatolia was Najmaddîn Yahyâ who came from Iraq and settled in Amasya in thefourteenth century. After him, however, no information has been reached about the Rifâî-Sayyâdîs in Anatolia until the nineteenth century. It has been established that during thenineteenth century, Sayyâdiyya was represented in Anatolia by Sayyid Abdullah al-Hâshimî and in Istanbul by Ebu’l-Hudâ Efendi. The fourth and the last chapter named as “The methods and rituals in Rifâî-Sayyâdiyya”, first displays the writings of Sayyid Ahmad al-Sayyâd about the rituals andmethods of the order. Then, based on Rifâî futuwwatnâmes, it concentrates on the methodsand practices of the Rifâiyya order in Anatolia and Istanbul during the nineteenth century;garments peculiar to the Rifâiyya order; the furnishing of the “maidan” where theceremony takes place in Rifâî dervish lodges; and the ceremony of the Rifâiyya order.
