Heykelde ev imgesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın araştırma konusu ev kavramı ve imgesidir. Ev kavramı ve imgesi içinse tek bir çerçeve tanımlamadan söz etmek ev olgusunu bütün anlam örgüleriyle almamızda eksik ve yetersiz kalacağından, çok boyutlu olarak ele alınmasını gerektirir.Bu çalışma, ev imgesini üç ana düzlemde işlemektedir. Bunlardan ilki ev imgesiyle kavramının teorik çerçevesine dairdir. Bu çerçevede ev öncelikle maddi bir varlık olarak ele alınıp, insanlığın barınma tarihi içinde yapısının maddesel ve anlamsal bağlamlarda geçirdiği dönüşümler incelenmektedir. Sonrasında ise ev imgesi metaforik bir mekân, tinsel bir olgu olarak ele alınıp, hem ev yapısının beden ve zihinle girdiği ilişki ve etkileşim gösterilmekte hem de ev sözcüğüyle başka kavramların taşıdığı özdeşlikler kıyaslamalar yapılarak irdelenmektedir. Araştırmanın ikinci aşamasında ise ev imgesi heykel sanatı bağlamında ele alınmıştır. Öncelikle ev imgesini heykel sanatında hangi tarihsel süreçte ve şekillerde görmeye başladığımız soruşturulmuştur. Sonrasında ise günümüzde belli başlı bir konu haline gelmiş olan heykelde ev imgesini gerçek evlere müdahalelerde bulunarak ya da metaforik düzeyde alarak üreten sanatçılarla yer verilmiştir. Rachel Whiteread, Gordon Matta-Clark, Do Ho Suh gibi sanatçıların yapıtları heykelde ev imgesi kapsamında incelenmiştir. Bu tez çalışmasının son bölümünde bir heykeltıraş olarak ev kavramını kendine konu edinen üretimlerim içerik, bağlam ve malzeme ilişkisi içinde anlatılmıştır.The research topic of this study is the concept and the image of the house. This theme has to be considered multidimensionally, since referring to the concept and the image of the house from a single frame would be insufficient and deficient to consider it in its entirety.This study elaborates the concept of house in three main areas. The first is the theoretical framework, in which the house is first elaborated as a material existence and its changes are analyzed at a material and lexical level throughout history. Thereafter the image of the house is analyzed as a metaphorical space, as an immaterial phenomenon, demonstrating the interrelation of the house structure with the body-mind structure and comparing the similarities of the word house with other concepts.In the second part of the research the image of the house is studied in the context of the art of sculpture and how as an image it has been integrated into this artistic field. as Artists such as Rachel Whiteread, Gordon Matta-Clark, and Do Ho Suh who have produced images of houses metaphorically or intervened in real houses have been analyzed.The last part of the thesis includes my own production as a sculptor and describes how I relate to the topic of the house as an image and with the relationship between the context and the material in terms of the art of sculpture.
