Pierre Teilhard de Chardin’in evrensel tekâmül ve tanrı anlayışı

Abstract

Tez bir giriş ve üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Girişte, Teilhard’ın Evrensel Tekâmül Teorisinin kavramsal çerçevesi sunulmaktadır. Birinci bölümde Teilhard’ın hayatı, esinlendiği ve etkilediği kişilerin fikirleri ile düşünce sisteminde kullandığı yöntem irdelenmektedir. İkinci bölümde Teilhard’ın madde ve enerji tasavvuru ortaya konulmaktadır ve Teilhard’ın Evrensel Tekâmül Teorisinin kurucu öğeleri, işleyişi ve aşamaları incelenmektedir. Üçüncü bölümde ise Evrensel Tekâmül sistemi içerisinde Teilhard’ın Tanrı tasavvuru ele alınmakta ve Teilhard’ın Evrensel Tekâmül teorisi ile Whitehead’in süreç felsefesi mukayese edilmektedir. Tezimizin sonucunda iki meseleyi kendi bakış açımızdan aydınlığa kavuşturmayı hedefliyoruz. Tezimizin birinci meselesi, tezin ikinci kısmında ele alacağımız Teilhard’ın Evrensel Tekâmül sisteminin yerleşik bilimsel paradigmalar açısından bakıldığında nasıl değerlendirilebileceği ve kendi içerisinde tutarlı olup olmadığı meselesidir. Bu bağlamda Teilhard’ın kendi sistemi içerisinde çoğunlukla tutarlı olduğunu ancak mevcut bilimsel paradigmalar açısından bakıldığında ise bilimsel bir teori olarak kabul edilemeyeceğini göstermeye çalışacağız. Teilhard ortaya koymuş olduğu Evrensel Tekâmül sistemi ile bilimsel, teistik ve metafizik yargıları birbirine harmanlayarak bir sistem oluşturmaya çalışmaktadır. Bunun yanında Teilhard’ın Evrensel Tekâmül Teorisinin kurucu unsuru olan, içsellik, merkezilik, radyal enerji vb. gibi kavramların çoğu metafizik karakterli varsayımlar olduğu için bilimsel bir temele dayanmamaktadır. Tezimizin ikinci meselesi ise Teilhard’ın Evrensel Tekâmül sistemi içinde Tanrı tasavvuru ile süreç felsefesi arasında bir benzerlik olup olmadığını irdelemektir. Bu kapsamda Teilhard’ın Whitehead’in süreç felsefesi geleneği içerisinde kabul edilip edilemeyeceği irdelenecek bu iki sistemin kozmolojik, teistik açılardan bir mukayesesi yapılacaktır. Bu noktada Teilhard’ın Evrensel Tekâmül sistemi ile Whitehead’in süreç felsefesi arasında “süreç” fikri açısından benzerlikler bulunmaktadır. Bununla beraber düşünce tarihindeki cevherci ve süreç fikrini benimseyen düşünürler ile filozoflar bağlamında Teilhard bir süreç düşünürü olarak kabul edilebilir ancak yapısal açıdan Whitehead’in düşüncesinden farklılıkları bulunmaktadır. Netice itibariyle burada Teilhard’ın spesifik anlamda Whitehead’in öncülük ettiği süreç felsefesi geleneğine bağlı bir düşünür sayılamayacağını göstermeye çalışacağız.This PhD thesis consists of an introduction and three chapters. In the introduction, the conceptual framework of Teilhard's Universal Evolution Theory is presented. The first chapter provided information about Teilhard's life, the people or ideas he inspired and was influenced, and an examination of the method he used in his thinking system. In the second chapter, Teilhard's vision of matter and energy is presented. I examined the founding elements, functioning, stages of Teilhard's Universal Evolution Theory. In the third chapter, Teilhard's vision of God within the Universal Evolution system is discussed. This chapter also includes a comparison between Teilhard's theory of Universal Evolution and Whitehead's process philosophy. In this dissertation I tried to answer to questions. The first question concerns how Teilhard's Universal Evolution system, which discuss in the second chapter, can be related to the established scientific paradigms and whether it has a consistent internal structure. In this context, I tried to show that Teilhard’s theory of Universal Evolution is self- consistent. But it cannot be accepted as a scientific theory from the perspective of existing scientific paradigms. The Universal Evolution system put forward by Teilhard seems to consist of scientific, theistic, metaphysical ingredients. Since most of the concepts such as withinnes, centreism, radial energy are assumptions of a metaphysical character, they can not be taken as scientific explanations. The second issue of our thesis is to examine whether there is a similarity between Teilhard’s concept of God and conception of process within his theory of Universal Evolution. In this context, I tried to answer the question whether Teilhard can be considered within the tradition of Whitehead's process philosophy by comparing their positions on the conception of cosmos and God. At this point, I see similarities between Teilhard's Universal Evolution system and Whitehead's process philosophy, since both uphold the idea of process. However, there are issues where Teilhard’s position clearly diverges from Whitehead's thought. Thus, I tried to show why Teilhard cannot be regarded as a thinker based on the tradition of process philosophy pioneered by Whitehead.
