Abstract
Fusûsu’l-Hikem is considered as one of the most important works of Sufi literature. Davûd Kayserî gives explanations in details to some of the most important issues of Wahdat al-Wujud, or ‘Unity of Existence’, both in this commentary work and in his other epistles. After studying in many schools on varied subjects, the author was invited by Orhan Bey, the second sultan of the Ottoman State, to Nicaea and was appointed as the head professor of the first Ottoman Madrasa. Thus, he carried to Anatolia some of the most valuable religious studies that he inherited from various scholars and he specially paved the way for the idea of Wahdat al-Wajud to take place in the Ottoman Madrasas and the scholarly life there.
