Publication: Okullarda eğitim araçları merkezinin rolü ve yönetimi
Abstract
Bu çalışmada, liselerde bulunan Eğitim Araçları Merkezleri göz önünde tutularak, öğretmenlerin bu Eğitim Araçları Merkezlerinde bulunan eğitim araçlarını seçerken dikkat ettikleri kriterler ile uygulamada karşılaştıkları engel ve güçlükler incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda, okullarda bulunan Eğitim Araçları Merkezlerinin rolü ve bu merkezlerin yönetiminin nasıl olması gerektiği konusunda önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama ve ölçme aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen bir anket kullanılmıştır. Anket üç ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölümde anketi yanıtlayan kişiye yönelik kişisel sorular bulunmaktadır (12 soru). İkinci bölüm bir öğretim materyali seçerken öğretmenlerin nelere hangi düzeyde dikkat ettiklerini ölçmeye yönelik sorulardan oluşmaktadır (12 soru). Üçüncü bölümde, öğretim araç ve materyallerini kullanırken öğretmenlerin karşılaştığı engel ve güçlükleri ölçmeye yönelik sorular vardır (12 soru). İki ve Üçüncü bölümdeki sorular 5'li Likert ölçeğine göre Çok Fazla (5), Fazla (4), Kısmen (3), Az (2) ve Hiç (1) olarak ölçeklendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul ilinde liselerde 2001-2002 Eğitim Öğretim yılında görev yapan öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Klasik Lise (100), Özel Lise (50) ve Anadolu Lisesi (52) olmak üzere, toplam 8 okuldan 202 öğretmene ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler SPSS 10 istatistik paket ortamında frekans, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi ve T-testi teknikleri kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Bu araştırma yedi bölümden oluşmaktadır. Bunlar; giriş, ilgili yayınlar, yöntem, bulgular, sonuçlar, tartışmalar ve önerilerdir. Yapılan değerlendirmeler sonucunda araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin tamamının eğitim araçlarının faydasına inandıklarını bildirdiği görülmüştür. Bir öğretim materyali seçiminde öğretmenlerin en çok o aracın doğru bilgiler vermesi kriterine önem verdikleri, en az ise aynı aracın birden çok sınıfta kullanılarak maliyeti azaltması kriterini göz önünde bulundurdukları belirlenmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin bir öğretim araç ve materyali seçerken karşılaştıkları en önemli güçlük olarak sınıftaki öğrenci sayısının fazla miktarda olmasını belirttikleri görülmüştür. Araştırmanın bazı önerileri şunlardır: Eğitim Araçları Merkezlerinde bulunan materyaller kolay ulaşılabilir olmalı, öğrencinin kendi öğrenme hızına uygun olarak ilerleyebilmesine imkan tanıyan öğretim materyalleri bulunmalı ve Eğitim Araçları Merkezi öğrenci merkezli, onların ihtiyaçlarına odaklı yapılandırılmalıdır. Yani öğrencinin kendi öğrenme hızı doğrultusunda, bireysel olarak çalışabilmesine imkan sağlayacak bir yapılanma içerisinde olmalıdır. Ekim, 2003 Eyüp Yaşar KÜRÜM
THE ROLE AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES CENTERS IN THE SCHOOLS In this study, considering the educational resources centers, the criteria the teachers follow while choosing the resources in these centers and the difficulties and problems they face during the process are studied. Regarding to this, proposals about the role and the administration of the educational resources centers are made. In the research a survey devised by the researchers is used to collect data. The survey consists of three main sections. In the first section, there are 12 personal questions about the individual answering the survey. In the second section, there are 12 questions about the criteria the teachers follow while choosing a resource in the resources center. In the third section, there are 12 questions about the difficulties and the problems the teachers face while using the resources in the resources center. The questions in the second and third sections are scaled with the Likert scale as: Always (5), Usually (4), Sometimes (3), Rarely (2) and Never (1). The sample of the research is the teachers chosen randomly among the teachers working in the schools in the 2001-2002 academic year in Istanbul. 100 of the teachers work in Public High Schools, 50 teachers work in private schools and 52 of them work in Anatolian High Schools. The data collected is analyzed with SPSS Statistics program by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way anova and t-test. This study consists of seven main sections. These are: Introduction, Related Literature, Method, Findings, Results, Discussions and Proposals. According to the results, all the teachers participating in the research stated that they admitted the benefits of the educational resources. While choosing an educational resource for their courses, the teachers mostly follow the criteria of Being interesting for the students. The least followed criteria is Lowering the cost by being used in many different classrooms. The most common problem stated by the teachers while using a resource is the over crowded students in their classrooms. Some proposals of the research are as follows: The educational resources in the resources centers should be readily available, they must allow students self-pacing and the resources must be individualized. They must cater for the needs of students working on their own. The organization and the administration of the resources center should be developed by focusing on the individual needs of the students.
