Abstract
2011 yılında meydana gelen Suriye’deki iç savaş nedeniyle milyonlarca Suriyelisığınmacı ülkelerinden göç etmiştir. Türkiye de bu süreçte açık kapı politikasıuygulayarak, sığınmacıları ülkeye kabul etmiş, her türlü maddi ve manevi desteksağlamıştır. Gelen sığınmacıların bir bölümü kamplara yerleştirilirken, diğer bir kısmıise kamp dışında Türkiye’nin farklı şehirlerinde yaşamlarını sürdürmüşlerdir. Göçsürecinde kuşkusuz en çok etkilenen kesim ise sığınmacı çocuklar olmuştur. Ailelerininrefakatiyle göç ettikleri ülkede göçün etkilerini sığınmacı çocuklar da yaşamışlardır.Gelişen bu süreçte sığınmacı çocuklar, ulusal ve uluslararası basında yaşadıklarıylahaber metinleri arasında yerlerini almışlardır. Bu çalışmayla Star, Hürriyet veCumhuriyet gazetelerinin 2015 ve 2016 yıllarında çıkan haberlerinde Suriyeli sığınmacıçocukların nasıl temsil edildiği ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Çalışma sonucundagazetelerin ideoloji ve politik anlayışlarının haber metinlerine yansıdığı fakat sığınmacıçocuklara yönelik olumsuz bir bakış açısına sahip olmadıkları görülmüştür.
Due to the civil war in Syria in 2011, millions of Syrian refugees had to emigrate fromtheir countries. in Turkey, in this process by applying open-door policy, asylum seekersadopted country, has provided financial and moral support. Placing a portion of theSyrians came to the camp of refugees, while another part continued their life in differentcities of Turkey outside the camps. In the process of migration, undoubtedly the mostaffected were the children of asylum seekers. In the country where they wereaccompanied by their families, refugee children experienced the effects of migration. Inthis process, asylum-seeker children have taken their places among the news texts withtheir experiences in national and international press. In this study, it is tried to revealhow Syrian refugee children are represented in the news of Star, Hürriyet andCumhuriyet newspapers in 2015 and 2016. As a result of the study, it was seen that theideology and political approaches of the newspapers were reflected in the news texts butdid not have a negative perspective towards asylum seekers.
