Abstract
ILICA BROOK BASIN (ın Terms of Physıcal,Human and Economical Geography) Ilıca (Zilan) Brook Basin which is our subject field, is located on the Van Region of the East Anatolian Region. The basin covers nearly 1210 square kilometer. The volcanic Aladag rage is in the North and Erciş Plain consisted of aluvial fillings is in the South of the Ilıca Brook Basin. The Aladağ rages are seperated deeply by Ilıca Brook and ıts branches which collects the whole water of the basin. Ilıca Brook pours its water to Lake Van passing along the Erciş Plain with North and South direction in the South of the research field. In this research, It is mentioned such geographical factors as the geological, geomorphological, climatic, soil, plantation and hidrographic. It is also mentioned human and economic geographical properties which are directly under the effect of demography, location, agriculture, stock-breding, industry, transportation, trade and tourism with details. As a result; some problems in the Ilıca Brook Basin are obtained such as earthquake probability, soil erosion, increase in the water level in Lake Van, geothermal resources and not being able to use 'pomza and perlit' efficiently, destruction of green areas, unemployement and migration and some suggesstions to solve these problems are given.
