Abstract
Mesleki ve Teknik Ortaöğretim Kurumlarındaki Meslek Dersleri Öğretmenlerinin Kendilerini Geliştirme Düzeyleri ve Yöneticinin Katkısı Bir toplum olarak ilerleyebilmek ve gelişmiş ülkelerdeki refah düzeyine erişebilmek için okullarda iyi bir eğitimin veriliyor olması gerektiği bilinen bir gerçektir. Ancak okullarda iyi bir eğitimin verilebilmesi, yani öğrencilerin başarılı olabilmeleri için okuldaki öğretimin niteliğinin yükseltilmesi gereklidir. Okullardaki başarı grafiği de nitelikli öğretmenler olmadan önemli düzeyde yükseltilemez. Başka bir ifadeyle, iyi öğrencilere sahip olunabilmesi için iyi öğretmenlere ihtiyaç vardır (Özyar, 2003; Seferoğlu, 2003, s.1). Mesleki gelişimin önem kazandığı günümüzde, öğretmenlerimizin mesleki gelişim durumları ve mesleki gelişimlerine yöneticinin katkısı araştırılmıştır. Araştırma konusu hakkında geniş çaplı literatür taraması yapılmış ve dikkat edilecek husus belirlenmiştir. Öncelikle mesleki gelişim kavramı üzerinde durularak, bu kavramın tanımı yapılmış daha sonra öğretmenlerin kendilerini mesleki yönden geliştirebileceği alanlar belirlenmiştir. Eğitim yöneticisinin görevleri araştırılmış ve öğretmenlerin mesleki gelişimindeki rolleri saptanmıştır. Araştırma bir anket düzenlenerek öğretmenlere uygulanmış ve sonuçları yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma anketi hazırlanırken uzman kişilerin yardımı alınmıştır. Uygulanan anketlerin SPSS programında istatistikleri çıkartılmış ve beklentilere ilişkin belli sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Vocational Instructors’ Self Improvement Level and Directors’ Contribution to Increase it in Vocational and Technical High Schools It’s obvious that decent education is a must for a nation to progress and achieve developed countries’ welfare level. In order to perform decent education or to have successfull students, education quality should be increased. It’s not possible to perform better education without qualified instructors. In other words, better teachers are needed for better performing students. (Özyar, 2003; Seferoğlu, 2003, s.1). As vocational improvement is gaining importance more and more each day, ‘Vocational instructors’ improvement level and directors’ contribution to increase it’ has been the subject of a study. In that study, a wide literature research has been done and important elements are defined. The study is focused on technical impovement concept initially. The definition of technical improvement is specified, and areas that teachers can improve are set. Job description of directors has been studied and their functions in vocational improvement of teachers are determined. The study includes an inquiry applied to teachers and its results are interpreted. Inquiry has been prepared with the help of education experts. Inquiry datas are processed with the SPSS computer program pack, and statistics of outcomes are derived. Results are discussed and suggestions are provided. January, 2006Akif H. ÖZMERCAN
