Örnek olay yönteminin matematik dersindeki çevrimiçi uygulamasına yönelik saha deneyimleri

Abstract

ÖZET Bu çalışma ile örnek olay yönteminin matematik dersindeki çevrimiçi uygulamasına yönelik saha deneyimlerinin aktarılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda matematik örnek olaylarının tasarım süreci ve çevrimiçi sınıf ortamında uygulama süreci yansıtılmaya çalışılmıştır. Uygulama 2020-2021 eğitim-öğretim yılı güz döneminde Sakarya’da bir devlet okulunda öğrenim gören ve matematik derslerini uzaktan eğitim yoluyla alan iki farklı şube 7. sınıf öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmacılar tarafından belirtilen konulara yönelik örnek olay ders planları oluşturulmuş ve bu kapsamda beş hafta boyunca çevrimiçi matematik dersleri işlenmiştir. Çalışma nitel araştırma deseninde tasarlanmış olup çalışmada araştırmacıların uygulama öncesi örnek olay ders planlarını hazırlama aşamasına yönelik deneyimleri ve ders planlarının uygulanması sürecine yönelik gözlemleri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre; günlük hayat problemlerinin empatik, düşünsel ve ahlaki boyutta sorgulanmasının gerçekleştirilebileceği örnek olay tasarımında yaşanan güçlükler söz konusu olmuştur. Sınıf içi uygulama deneyimlerine göre öğrencilerin yaşantıyla ilişkilendirme, düşünsel, ahlaki ve empatik çözümleme boyutlarına yönelik kapsamlı cevaplar verdikleri, özellikle matematiksel bilgileri günlük hayatla ilişkilendirmede olumlu bir etkinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin örnek olay etkinlikleriyle matematiksel kavramlar üzerinde fikirlerini açıklarken başlangıçta çekimser kaldıkları, farklı türde soruların da sorulmasıyla matematiksel kavramlara ulaşmada yardımcı olunduğu gözlenmiştir. Bu süreç sonucunda farklı konulardaki örnek olay etkinliklerinin nasıl tasarlanacağı ve uygulama sırasında dikkat edilmesi gereken hususlar hakkında araştırmacılara öneriler sunulmaktadır.This study, it is aimed to examine the field experiences of the online application of the case method in the mathematics lesson. In this context, the design process of mathematics case studies and the application process in the online classroom environment were tried to be reflected. The application was carried out with 7 th-grade students from two different branches who were studying at a public school in Sakarya and taking mathematics lessons through distance education during the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The case study lesson plans were created for the subjects specified by the researchers, and in this context, online mathematics lessons were taught for five weeks. The study was designed in a qualitative research design. According to the findings obtained; there have been difficulties experienced in the case study design. According to their classroom practice experiences, it was determined that the students gave comprehensive answers to the dimensions of associating with life, intellectual, moral, and empathetic analysis, and there was a positive effect especially in associating mathematical information with daily life. In addition, it was observed that the students were initially hesitant when explaining their ideas on mathematical concepts with case studies, and by asking different types of questions, they were helped to reach mathematical concepts. As a result of this process, suggestions about how to design case study activities on different subjects and the points to be considered during the implementation were presented to the researchers.
