A management information system (MIS) application for management by objectives (MBO)

Abstract

Çalışmanın yapıldığı şirkette bankacılık işlemleri için kullanılan program günlük, haftalık, aylık ve yıllık olarak, yapılan işlemler ile ilgili text formatında raporlar üretmektedir. Text formatında oluşan bu çeşitli raporlardan alınan veriler manuel olarak düzenlenerek excel formatında raporlar hazırlanıyordu. Text formatındaki raporların çeşitliliği ve bazı raporların Excel de bilinen fonksiyonlarla istenilen şekilde düzenlenememesi nedeniyle gözle incelenerek hazırlanması hem hata yapılmasına sebep olmakta, hem de çok fazla zaman kaybettirmekteydi. Bu nedenle yönetici dahil bölüm çalışanları raporların hazırlanmasına zaman harcıyor, inceleme ve analiz için kısıtlı zaman ayırmak zorunda kalıyordu. Bunun yanında hazırlanan raporlar için standart bir yer ve isim belli olmadığı için çalışanlar istedikleri raporlara ulaşmakta zorluk yaşıyorlardı. Bu tezde hazırlanan MIS sistemi ile, manuel olarak hazırlanan mevcut raporların, otomatik olarak, standart bir isimle, standart bir yerde ve kısa sürede oluşmasını sağlanmıştır. Sistem, güncel veya geçmiş tarihli raporlara kolay ulaşım sağlayacak şekilde hazırlanmıştır. Tez çalışmaları MIS sistemini geliştirirken izlenen adımları içermektedir. Bu tez kapsamında organizasyonun bir departmanında uygulamaya başlanan bilgi sisteminin bölüm hedeflerini desteklemesi ve performansı arttırması konusu incelenmiştir. In the company, where the MIS was designed, the transaction processing systemproduces daily, weekly, monthly, and annual text reports about transactions. In the department, that use the system, the data obtained from these various text reports were arranged to prepare reports in excel format. The variety of the text reports and manual preparation of reports using some text reports, that can not be arranged by known excel functions, caused to make mistakes and also to waste lots of time. For that reason, personnel of this department includes the department director has spent lots of time for preparation of the reports and have to spend not enough time for analyzing and examination. In addition to this, the personnel has have difficulties to reach some needed reports, because there was not a standard name or certain directory for the prepared reports. The system, which was developed in this thesis, provide to prepare the reports automatically in short time with standard name at standard directory. This system was designed to supply easy access to current or historical records. Thesis studies contain the followed steps while the MIS systemhas been developed. In the scope of this thesis the support of information system development to goals and objectives of one department of the organization and the effects on the performance have been searched.
