İnternet ortamında serbest gazetecilik ve etik sorunlar

Abstract

İnternet döneminde serbest gazetecilerin nasıl bir dönüşüm geçirdiği önemli bir soru olarak karşımızda durmaktadır. Bütün iş kollarını etkileyen, gazeteciliğe yeni pratikler katan İnternet’in serbest gazetecilerin çalışma biçimini de etkilediği ve değiştirdiği düşünülmektedir. Konvansiyonel medya döneminde serbest gazeteciler, belirlenmiş bir süre içinde geçerli sözleşme çerçevesinde çalışmakta, genellikle haber başı ücret almakta iken, İnternet ile birlikte meslek pratiğinde meydana gelen önemli bir değişimin parçası oldukları göze çarpmaktadır. İnternetle birlikte isteyen herkesin gazetecilik yaptığı bir ortamda serbest gazeteciler, alternatif medya, yurttaşlar ve blog yazarları birbirinden nasıl ayırt edilebilir? Değişen medya ortamında serbest gazeteciliğin temel etik meseleleri nelerdir? Bu çalışmada söz konusu sorular ışığında yeni dönem serbest gazetecilerin durumu ve çalışma biçimi açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır.Dört bölüm halinde hazırlanan çalışmanın birinci bölümünde, gazetecilik mesleğini oluşturan kavramlarla ilgili tanımlar tartışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde Yeni Medya ile birlikte gazetecilik mesleğinin, özellikle İnternet teknolojisiyle birlikte nasıl bir dönüşüm geçirdiği ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde ise; İnternet ortamında serbest gazeteciliğin özellikleri tartışılmıştır. Son bölümde aktif gazetecilerle derinlemesine mülakat gerçekleştirilerek etik problemlerin çerçevesinin anlaşılmasına çalışılmıştır. Buna göre yeni medya serbest gazetecilere benzersiz imkânlar sunarken, iş güvenliği, ekonomik ilişkiler, fikri mülkiyet hakları gibi konuları sorun olarak karşımıza çıkarmaktadır. Yapılan mülakatlarda serbest gazeteciliğin etrafındaki etik sorunların genellikle söz konusu üç temel problem etrafında şekillendiği anlaşılmıştır.

The question of how free journalists have undergone a transformation in the Internet era is an important question. It is believed that the Internet, which affects all sectors of business and adds new practices to journalism, also influences and changes the way journalists work. During the conventional media period, free journalists are working within the framework of a valid contract within a defined period, often paying per capita incentives, but they are part of a significant change in professional practice along with the Internet. How can freelance journalists, alternative media, citizens and bloggers be differentiated in a journalistic environment for everyone who wants to be with the Internet? What are the main ethical issues of free journalism in a changing media environment? In this study, the situation and working style of the new period free journalists were tried to be explained in the light of the question.In the first part of the work, which is prepared in four chapters, definitions related to the concepts that constitute the journalism profession are discussed. In the second part, with the New Media, the journalism profession was tried to show how it transformed especially with the Internet technology. In the third chapter, the features of free journalism on the Internet are discussed. In the last part, in-depth interviews with active journalists have been made to understand the frame of ethical problems. Accordingly, while the new media offer unique opportunities for freelance journalists, issues such as job security, economic relations, and intellectual property rights are raised as a problem. During the interviews, it was understood that the ethical problems surrounding free journalism were generally shaped around three fundamental problems.
