Abstract
ISRAEL - PALESTINE CONFLICT IN USA FOREIGN POLICY: 1993-2009 The Israel - Palestine conflict, which is one of the most important problems of the Middle East, is at the same time one of the main issues of the US foreign policy. Within this framework US interfered in the issue at the end of the cold-war and helped to bring the parties to the problem together under the label of “Peace Talks”. As a result of US initiatives, the Israeli and Palestinian leaders came together several times between the 1993-2009 period, but they could not afford to compromise on issues such as the status of Jerusalem, Palestinian refugees and Jewish settlers. In this process the US pro-Israel approach to the solution of the problem became the basic nature of the negotiations and this attitude has not been altered both during the rule of the Democratic Party and Republican Party.
