Okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin müzik öğretimine yönelik özyeterliklerinin incelenmesi

Abstract

Bireylerin bir işi başaracağına dair inancının olması ve bu inanç doğrultusunda gereken çabayı gösterirken sabırla ve kendine güvenerek ısrarcı bir şekilde sürekliliği sağlanmasının, o işe dair özyeterlikleri ile ilgili olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu durum göz önüne alındığında, özyeterlik eğitim ve öğretimin işleyişinin niteliğini belirleyen önemli bir faktör olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu araştırma da, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin müzik öğretimine yönelik özyeterliklerini incelemek ve özyeterlikleri üzerinde çeşitli demografik değişkenler ile herhangi bir farklılaşma meydana gelip gelmediğinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tarama modeli kullanılan araştırmanın verileri, 2020-2021 eğitim ve öğretim yılında İstanbul İlinde MEB’e bağlı olarak faaliyet gösteren okullarda görev yapan ve rastgele (random) seçim yoluyla çalışmaya katılan toplam 90 okul öncesi öğretmeninden toplanmıştır. Okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin demografik bilgilerine erişebilmek için araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan Kişisel Bilgi Formu, müzik öğretimine yönelik özyeterliklerinin incelenmesi için ise Özmenteş (2011) tarafından geliştirilen Müzik Öğretimine Yönelik Özyeterlik Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilere göre okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin, müzik öğretimine yönelik özyeterliklerinin yüksek olduğu, çalgı-performans yönetimi özyeterlik bakımından kendilerini olumlu (yeterli) algıladıkları saptanmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmaya katılan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin müzik öğretimine yönelik özyeterlikleri ile “cinsiyet, yaş, kıdem, üniversitede müzik eğitimi dersi alma, üniversitedeki müzik eğitimi dersi notu, örgün eğitim dışında müzik dersi alma, okul yönetiminden destek görme, okulda müzik odasıköşesi olması, farklı eğitsel yaklaşımlardan yararlanma” değişkenleri arasında anlamlı (büyük) farklılık saptanırken “ailede müzik eğitimi almış birinin olması ve hizmet içi eğitim alma” değişkenlerinin müzik öğretimine yönelik özyeterlik düzeyleri üzerindeki etkisinin anlamlı (orta) olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. “Eğitim durumu” bağımsız değişkeninin ise okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin müzik öğretimine yönelik özyeterlik düzeyleri üzerinde herhangi bir etkisinin olmadığı (anlamlı farka neden olmadığı) görülmüştür. Bu araştırmanın, öğretmen eğitiminde uygulanan yöntemlerin geliştirilmesi ve okul öncesi müzik öğretimine yönelik yapılmış olan sınırlı çalışmalara sağlayacağı katkı sebebiyle önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir.

It is known that individuals' belief that they will be successful in a job and their perseverance while performing the necessary effort with patience and self-confidence in line with this belief are related to their self-efficacy regarding that job. Considering this situation, self-efficacy emerges as an important factor that determines the quality of the functioning of education and training. In this study, it was aimed to examine the self-efficacy of preschool teachers towards music teaching and to determine whether there is a differentiation in their self-efficacy with various demographic variables. In this study, scanning model was used . The data of the research, were collected from a total of 90 randomly selected preschool teachers working in the schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education in the province of Istanbul in the 2020-2021 academic year. The Personal Information Form created by the researcher to reach the demographic information of preschool teachers and the Music Teaching Self-Efficacy Scale developed by Özmentes (2011) were used to examine their self-efficacy towards music teaching. According to the data obtained from the research, it was determined that preschool teachers' self-efficacy for music teaching was high and they perceived themselves positively (sufficiently) in terms of instrument-performance management self-efficacy. In addition, the self-efficacy of the preschool teachers participating in the research regarding music teaching was determined according to variables such as gender, age, seniority, taking music education lessons at the university, music education course grades at the university, and taking music lessons outside of formal education. There was a significant (big) difference between the variables of “education, getting support from the school administration, having a music room/ corner at school, having a music room/ corner at school, and using different educational approaches”. There was a significant (big) difference between the self-efficacy levels of someone who had a musical education in the family and received in-service training and who had not. It has been seen that the variables independent variable of education status is not significant. It is thought that this research is important because of the development of methods applied in teacher education and its contribution to the limited studies on pre-school music education.
