Kültürel antropolojide fotoğraf kullanımı

Abstract

“Kültürel Antropolojide Fotoğraf Kullanımı” isimli bu çalışmada, fotoğraf ile antropoloji arasındaki ilişki incelenmekte ve fotoğrafın antropolojik çalışmalarda kullanımı ile ilgili bilgi verilmektedir. İnsanoğlunun tarihi boyunca kendi geçmişiyle ile ilgili olan merakı onu çeşitli araştırma yöntemleri kullanmaya itmiştir. Kültürel antropoloji de bu yöntemlerden biridir. Farklı toplumların kültürleriyle ilgili yapılan çalışmalardan elde edilen verilerin inandırıcılığını ve gerçeğe en yakın sunumunu sağlayan araçlardan biri de fotoğraftır. Fotoğrafın belge niteliğinin anlaşılmasıyla beraber, fotoğraf antropologlar için vazgeçilmez bir araştırma aracı haline gelmiştir. Bir toplumdaki yaşayış biçimini aktarmada sayfalarca dolusu yazı yerine tek bir fotoğraf karesi ile görsel bilgi iletmesi fotoğrafın değerini daha da arttırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada fotoğrafın gerçeklikle olan ilişkisi, antropolojik araştırmadaki metodları, ikna gücü ve keskinliğinin sağladığı etkiler incelenmektedir. Buradan hareketle Kıbrıslı Çingeneler özelinde yapılan araştırma irdelenmekte ve görsel antropoloji yöntemi kullanılarak Çingenelerin yaşam biçimleri gösterilmeye çalışılmaktadır.

In this study, named as “Using Photography in Cultural Anthropology”, the relationship between photography and anthropology is researched and informs about using the photography in anthropological studies. The interest of the own-kind of human being stimulate them using different kind of searching methods. Cultural anthropology is one of them. Photography is the convincing item of the data which is taken from different societies and also an instrument used to display the performance which is the closest item to the reality. Since photography used as a documents, it becomes an inevitable instrument for the anthropologist. Instead of writing so many things on the papers to give information about the living pattern of the society, using a single frame of a photograph can give the same information and it makes it more valuable. In this study, the relationship of photography with reality, the methods of investigating in anthropology and the influence of convincing and its directness are studies. From this point of view, the Cypriot Cypsies are researched and also the patterns of their lives are tried to demonstraith by using visual anthropology.
