Publication: Sulardaki aktif klorun KOİ analizlerine etkisinin incelenmesi
Abstract
EFFECT OF THE CHLORİNE CONTENT ON THE COD ANALYSES OF WATER SAMPLES Effect of chlorine and chloride concentriations on COD analysis was studied. To eliminate the effect of chloride, the amounts of HgSO4 and Ag2SO4 reagents have been determined and the best analytical conditions have been investigated. To minimize the adverse effects of chloride, HgSO4/ Cl- and Ag2SO4/ Cl- mole ratios should be 25 and 5 respectively. Since, chlorine also effects the COD determination, the reduction of chlorine into chloride by addition of suitable reduction agents, such as Fe (II), is necessary. For accurate results of COD, before the addition of HgSO4 and Ag2SO4, it is important to determine the chloride content of the sample and to add the calculated amounts of the reagents.
