İlköğretim fen bilgisi 4-8. sınıf ders programlarında ‘’doğal kaynaklar ve doğal kaynakların korunması’’ ile ilgili öğrenci kavramlarının doğruluk zamanlama ve bağlantılılık açısından incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı İlköğretim 4-8. sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen Bilgisi dersi programlarında bulunan Doğal Kaynaklar ve Doğal Kaynakların Korunması ile ilgili kavramların bu sınıflara devam eden öğrenciler tarafından öğrenilmişlik düzeyini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini İstanbul ili Kadıköy ve Ümraniye İlçelerindeki iki ilköğretim okulu, örneklemini bu okullardaki 4-8. sınıflara devam eden öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada iki ayrı semtin kullanılmasının nedeni bu semtlerin sosyo-ekonomik yönleriyle çok farklı yapıda olmalarıdır. Araştırmada veriler görüşme ve test tekniği ile toplanmıştır. 4. ve 5. sınıf öğrencileri ile görüşme yapılmış olup, 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerine çoktan seçmeli sorulardan oluşan anket formu uygulanmıştır. Görüşmeler için görüşme anket formu, testler içinde çoktan seçmeli sorulardan oluşan bilgi testi hazırlanmıştır. Görüşme anket formu ve test sorularının hazırlanmasında M.E.B. İlköğretim Fen Bilgisi ders yardımı ile hazırlanan kavram haritaları kullanılmıştır. Görüşme ve test sonuçları istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Veriler 4-8. sınıf öğrencilerde konu ile ilgili kavramların öğrenilmediğini, Kadıköy bölgesindeki okula devam eden öğrencilerin Ümraniye bölgesindeki okula devam eden öğrencilerden daha başarılı olduğunu göstermiştir. Sonuçlar Doğal Kaynaklar ve Doğal Kaynakların Korunması ile ilgili kavramların öğrenciler tarafından somut düzeyden soyuta doğru ilişkili ve destekleyici kavramlarla bağlantılı öğrenilmediğini, bununla birlikte çoğu öğrencinin konu ile ilgili bir veya birden fazla kavram yanlışlarına sahip olduklarını göstermiştir.

The aim of this study is to determine the learning level of concepts about Natural Resources and Conservation of Natural Resources of 4th - 8th grade students in Turkish primary schools. In this study, the student population is composed of two primary schools from the regions of Kadikoy and Umraniye in Istanbul. The sample group consists of 4th-8th grades of these schools. Two different schools of different city regions were chosen because these two regions are socio-economically different from each other. For this research data were collected by interview and test techniques. Students of 4th and 5th classes were interviewed while 7th and 8th were tested. For 4th and 5th class levels, two questionnaire forms were prepared. Two knowledge tests were given to 7th and 8th grades. Each test was composed of multioptional questions. The concept maps which were prepared according to the science lesson programs of National Curriculum, served as the basis for the design of the questionnaire forms and the test forms. The results of the interviews and the tests were statistically analysed The findings showed that 4th-8th grade students did not learn the concepts of Natural Resources and Conservation of Natural Resources. Students with their knowledge at school in Kadikoy were more successful comparing to the students at school in Umraniye. The results showed that the concepts of natural resources and conservation of natural resources were not learned meaningfully at all levels. Also, the results demonstrated that many students have got one or more misconceptions about the subject.
