Abstract
Son yıllarda, Türk Sermaye Piyasalarında hukuk, muhasebe ve denetim alanlarında, uluslararası kuralların uygulanması için büyük degisiklikler yapılmıstır. Bu degisiklikler sermaye piyasasının kurumsal yapısını, islem hacmini, düzenleyicilerin ve yatırımcıların davranıslarını etkilemistir. Yeni gelismeler, ulusal piyasanın daha derin ve fonksiyonel olmasına neden olmustur. Gelismelerin ardından, ulusal hisse senedi piyasası yabancı portföy yatırımcıları için popüler hale gelmistir. Ulusal hisse senedi piyasanın popülaritesindeki artıs, çok sayıda akademisyeni, İMKB’nin etkinligini arastırmaya zorlamıstır. Çalısmamız, ulusal hisse senedi piyasasının zayıf formda etkinligini arastırmaktadır. Zayıf formda etkinligin kanıtlanmasında, rassal yürüyüs modeli kullanılmaktadır. Arastırmamızda, 1988-2007 dönemleri arasında İMKB Endekslerinden “İMKB100 Bilesik Endeksi, İMKB Ulusal 50 Endeksi, İMKB Ulusal 30 Endeksi ve sektör endekslerinden İMKB Hizmet Endeksi, İMKB Mali Endeks ve İMKB Sınai Endeksi” kullanılmaktadır
During the last decade, the Turkish Capital Market (TKM) has enourmously changed to apply the international rules in the areas of law, accounting and auditing. These new changes affected the TKM’s institutional framework, trading volume and also the attitude of regulators and investors. Thus, new improvements generated deeper and functional national stocks market. After these developments, The Turkish National Stock Market also became popular for the foreign portfolio investors. Popularity of the National Stock Market forced many academics to search the efficiency in the ISE. This study investigates weak form efficency in the national stock market. It tests the Random Walk Hypothesis to prove weak form efficiency in the national stock market. In this study, the ISE Indexies “ISE Composite Index, ISE National 50 Index, ISE National 30 Index, ISE Service Index, ISE Financial Index and ISE Industry Index” regarding the years 1988-2007 have been used.
