Abstract

The biography of Yörükzade Ahmed Fevzi Efendi, who lived in Bolvadin and founded a madrasah there, is an indication of Gümüşhanevi's understanding of Sufism, his services, and his influence on his time and the following years. With the discovery of Yörükzade Ahmed Fevzi Efendi's letters and notebooks, previously unexamined documents in terms of the social, cultural, and religious life of the period, it has been possible to shed light on scholar-teacher-sufi living in the Bolvadin district of Afyon province. The service understanding, the difficulties, and the agenda of the Sufi circles in our recent history can be traced through these documents.
