KÜRESELLEŞMEYLE YÜKSELEN STK'LAR, İNTERNETİN KATKISI VE GREENPEACE ÖRNEĞİ Avrupa'da yaşanan Rönesans ve Reform dönemleri ile 'devlet' mekanizması, siyasal tarihin en büyük kırılmasını yaşadı. Devlet otoritesini, toplumun meşruiyetini tanımaya, bireyi yüceltmeye zorlayan gelişmeler, Fransız İhtilali ile zirveye ulaştı. İhtilal, klasik 'devlet' anlayışı için sonun başlangıcı oldu. Siyasal otoritenin yaşadığı bu değişim süreci, 20. yüzyılda küreselleşme ile yeni bir aşama daha kaydetti. Şimdi dünya sisteminde, devlet ve toplum kavramları da yeniden tanımlanıyor ve daha sağlıklı bir Devlet-Toplum ilişkisi arayışından doğan Sivil Toplum Kuruluşları, bu yeni tanımlamada merkez konumunda. Sivil Toplum Kuruluşlarının beklentilere cevap verebilmek için kullanacakları en önemli araçlardan biri internet olacaktır. Bu tezde, Sivil Toplum Kuruluşlarının ortaya çıkış nedenleri ve gelişim süreçleri, 'devlet' ve 'otorite' algısında yaşanan değişim bağlamında irdelenmiş, internet teknolojisinin Sivil Toplum Kuruluşlarına sağladığı avantajlar Greenpeace örgütünün yaptığı uygulamalarla örneklendirerek ortaya koyulmuştur. Events that forced the State to acknowledge public opinion and the importance of the individual culminated with the realization of the French Revolution - a revolution which marked the beginning of the end of the classical understanding of the State as such. This process of change which political authority has been subject to has entered a new stage in the 20th century with the advent of globalization. The new system is now redefining the concepts of the State and of the Individual and the search for a healthier relationship between society and the state is now placing non-governmental organizations on the center of the stage. Clearly, the internet will play one of the most important roles as a tool for NGO's to respond to the expectations which they face. This thesis focuses on the relationship between the evolution of the perception of the state and of authority and the emergence of non governmental organizations, and presents the advantages which the internet offers to these organizations through the example of Greenpeace.
