dc.description.abstractAlthough, the epidemiology differ among countries, nausea and vomiting of pregnancy, which occur in 50%-90% of pregnant women, are troublesome symptoms especially affecting women in early pregnancy period. Because nausea and vomiting of pregnancy have both physical and psychological results, alters the perception of well-being and decrease the quality of life in pregnant women, most of the pregnant women search for help from health professionals. Although, the cause of pregnancy induced nausea and vomiting is not clear, psychological factors, and gastrointestinal factors, placental growth, hormonal changes of pregnancy are postulated as possibleassumptions. Whereas according to an another hypothesis, nausea and vomiting function protects the pregnant women and embryo. With recognition of the mechanisms of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy by health professionals, different treatment options for the pregnant patients, will be provided.
