Bahâeddinzâde Muhyiddin Mehmed Efendi’nin Şerhu’l-Esmai’l-hüsnâ adlı eseri : tahkik ve değerlendirme

Abstract

İlâhî isimler üzerine şerh yazmak İslâmî ilimler literatürü içerisinde önemli bir telif türü olup kelâmî, lugavî ve tasavvufî açıdan yazılan şerhlerde Allah-insan ilişkisi söz konusu edilir. Bu çalışmada Bahâeddinzâde Muhyiddin Mehmed Efendi’nin (ö. 952/ 1545) Şerhu’l-Esmâi’l-hüsnâ adlı Arapça eseri metin ve içerik açısından incelenmiştir. Osmanlı dönemi tasavvuf literatürünün seçkin isimlerinden biri olan Bahâeddinzade’nin eserleri, tasavvuf ve kelâmın nazarî konularını ele alması bakımından dikkat çeker. Bu eseriyle ilâhî isimler literatürü içerisinde yer edinen Bâhâeddinzâde, farklı disiplinlerin konularıyla tasavvufî temaları birleştirmiştir. Çalışmada Bahâeddinzâde’nin hayatı, çevresi ve eserleri incelenmiş, Şerhu’l-Esmâi’l-hüsnâ’nın tespit edilen yazma nüshaları tanıtılmış, ardından belirlenen yazma nüshalar üzerinden eserin tahkiki yapılarak içeriği ve şerh yöntemi hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Ayrıca çalışma sırasında Şerhu’l-Esmâi’l-hüsnâ’nın Ali Salâhaddin Yiğitoğlu (1877-1939) tarafından yapılan Türkçe çevirisine ulaşılmış, eserin teorik zeminini oluşturan mukaddime kısmı Yiğitoğlu çevirisiyle birlikte değerlendirilmiştir.

Commentaries on al-asmā’ al-husnā (the beautiful names of God) constitutes an important genre within the literature on Islamic sciences. Those commentaries that focus on aspects of Kalām, language, and Sufism discuss the relationship between God and human being. This study provides a textual and contextual examination of the Arabic work Sharh al-Asmā’ al-Husnā by Muhammad ibn Bahā’ al-Dīn (d. 952/ 1545). Ibn Bahā’ al-Dīn, who is one of the celebrated figures within the literature on Sufism during the Ottoman period, is well-known with his interest in dealing with theoretical matters of Sufism and Kalām in his works. Ibn Bahā’ al-Dīn, who occupies an important space within Islamic literature thanks to his works on al-asmā’ al-husnā, has synthesized concepts of Sufism with subjects of other fields. After providing information on Ibn Bahā’ al-Dīn’s life and legacy; his connections as well as his works, the present work introduces manuscripts of Sharh al-Asmā’ al-Husnā that are known to us. Then it provides a critical edition of the Sharh based on the manuscripts identified, while at the same time providing information on contents and methodology of the commentary. Furthermore, when undertaking this project, I found the Turkish translation of Sharh al-Asmā’ al-Husnā translated by Ali Selahaddin Yiğitoğlu (1877-1939). The introduction, which lays the theoretical foundations of the Sharh, has been analysed with consideration of the translation by Yiğitoğlu.
