Abstract
TÜRK ROMANINDA YABANCI OKULLAR VE KÜLTÜREL DEĞİŞİMDEKİ ROLLERİ (1881-1950) Tanzimat’tan sonra gelişen Türk edebiyatında, en önemli türlerden biri romandır. Türk romanı, pek çoğu itibariyle tahsillerini yabancı okullarda yapan ve modern batılı bir eğitim alan yazarlar tarafından meydana getirilmiştir. 19. ve 20. yüzyıl Türk yazarlarının tahsil ve terbiyelerinde, bu yazarların hayata, insana ve kendi toplumlarına bakışında yabancı okulların büyük tesiri vardır. Kendi kültür ve medeniyet anlayışlarına göre bir nesil yetiştiren bu okullar, kültür değişmelerinde öncü bir rol oynamıştır. Sosyal hayatta görülen pek çok yenilik bu okullardan çıkanlar tarafından meydana getirilmiştir. Yabancı okullar aynı zamanda Batılı devletlerin Osmanlı Devleti üzerindeki siyasî, askerî, iktisadî ve kültürel emperyalizminin de bir aracıdır. Batı, bu okullarla hem misyonerlik faaliyeti yapmış hem de kendi toplumuna yabancılaşmış müstemleke aydınları yetiştirmiştir. VII
THE FOREIGN SCHOOLS IN THE TURKISH NOVEL AND THEIR ROLES IN CULTURAL EXCHANGE (1881 – 1950) Novel is one of the most important kinds in Turkish Literature which developed after The Administrative Reforms. Turkish novel has been made up by authors who were educated with a modern western education in the foreign schools. The Foreign schools have a great influence on education and discipline of 19th and 20th century Turkish authors and these authors' outlook on life, human and their own society. These schools, which educate a generation according to their own culture and civilization, played a leader role on culture variations. Most of the innovations seen in social life was made up by people who graduated from these schools. Moreover, the Western countries used these foreign schools as a tool for political, military, economic and cultural imperialism over Ottoman Empire. The West both played a missionary action and educated intellectuals who became alienated to their own societies.
