Türkiye’de fotoğraf müzeciliğinin durumu, sorunları ve çözüm önerileri

Abstract

Kültürün ortaya çıkarılması, belgelenmesi, saklanması, yayılması işlevleriningerçekleştirilmesinde müzeler önemli kurumsal yapılardır. Kültür endüstrisinin sonucu olarakortaya çıkan müzeler, ülkelerin ve şehirlerin turizmi hacmini arttırarak ekonomik değeryaratır.Günümüzde fotoğraf, uluslararası ortak bir sanat dili oluşturur. Sanat dilininkurumsallaşması ve küresel düzeyde kabul görmesi için müzelere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır.Müze, koleksiyonlarıyla korumaya aldığı eserleri ya da konuları, geçmişten günümüze,bugünden de geleceğe aktarmak gibi önemli ve tarihi bir görevi yerine getirir.Fotoğrafın teknolojik ve sanatsal olarak gösterdiği gelişmelere bağlı olarak, fotoğrafsanatı ile ön plana çıkan fotoğraf müzeleri kurulmuştur. Fotoğraf müzeleri, fotoğrafınicadından günümüze kadar ulaşmış fotoğraflarla, fotoğrafın göstermiş olduğu gelişimikonusunda kronolojik bir süreci gösterirken, bir taraftan da geçmişe tanıklık etmemizi,fotoğraflar aracılığıyla tarihi süreci anlamamızı sağlar. Fotoğraf müzeleri, fotoğraf sanatınıngelişmesine, yaygınlaşmasına ve sanatsal bir ortamda varlığını sürdürmesine olanaktanımaktadır.iiFotoğraf, keşfinden hemen sonra ülkemize gelmesine rağmen, fotoğrafın gelişmesi,yaygınlaşması, sanat olarak kabul görmesi uzun zaman almıştır. Fotoğrafın bir sanat dalıolarak geç kabul görmesinde, sosyal, siyasal, ekonomik ve kültürel değişimler etkili olmuştur.Ancak ülkemizde koleksiyon bilincinin gelişmemesi, müzecilik kültürünün benimsenmemesi,maddi imkânsızlıklar ve devlet desteğinin olmaması gibi nedenlerle fotoğraf müzeleriningelişimi hep geri kalmıştır.Türkiye’deki fotoğraf müzeleri genellikle fotoğraf makineleri koleksiyonlarınınsergilendiği mekânlardır. Fotoğraf sanatına ilişkin örneklerin, tarihi fotoğraf arşivlerininkorunup sergilenmesi konusunda yetersiz kalmaktadır. Türkiye’deki fotoğraf müzelerinin hemfotoğraf sanatına katkıda bulunması hem de ülkemizde ve bulundukları şehirlerde kültürturizmininin gelişmesini ve ekonomik potansiyeli arttırmasını sağlayacak seviyeye gelmesişarttır.Bu çalışmanın birinci bölümünde Türkiye’deki fotoğraf müzelerinin durumunailişkin araştırma için hangi yöntemlerin kullanılacağı açıklanmıştır. İkinci bölümde, müzecilikkavramı, tarihçesi, çağdaş müzecilik yaklaşımları, çağdaş müze örnekleri, Türkiye’demüzeciliğin tarihi, Türkiye’de müzeciliğin gelişememesinin nedenleri ortaya konulmuş veTürkiye’deki çağdaş müze örnekleri incelenmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise Türkiye’de fotoğrafmüzeciliğinin tarihi, gelişimi, önemi ve örnekleri incelenerek, Türkiye’de fotoğrafmüzeciliğinin neden gelişemediği üzerinde durulmuş, sorunlar ortaya konulmuş ve çözümönerileri getirilmiştir.

Museums are important institutional structures in the realization of the functions ofrevealing, documenting, preserving and spreading culture. The museums that emerged as aresult of the culture industry create economic value by increasing the volume of tourism ofcountries and cities.Today, photography forms a common international art language. Museums areneeded for the institutionalization of the language of art and its global acceptance. Themuseum fulfills an important and historical task such as transferring the works or subjects thatit has protected with its collections from the past to the present and from the present to thefuture.Depending on the technological and artistic developments of photography,photography museums that stand out with the art of photography have been established.While photography museums show a chronological process in the development ofphotography with photographs that have survived from the invention of photography to thepresent, they also enable us to witness the past and understand the historical process throughphotographs. Photography museums allow the art of photography to develop, spread andsurvive in an artistic environment.ivAlthough photography came to our country right after its discovery, it took a longtime for photography to develop, become widespread and be accepted as an art. Social,political, economic and cultural changes have been influential in the late acceptance ofphotography as an art form. However, in our country, the development of photographymuseums has always lagged due to the lack of awareness of collection, not adopting themuseology culture, financial impossibilities and lack of state support.Photography museums in Turkey are generally places where camera collections areexhibited. It falls short of preserving and exhibiting examples of photography and historicalphotographic archives. It is essential that photography museums in Turkey both contribute tothe art of photography and reach a level that will enable the development of cultural tourismand increase the economic potential in our country and in the cities they are located in.In the first part of this study, it is explained which methods will be used for researchon the situation of photography museums in Turkey. In the second part, the concept ofmuseology, its history, contemporary museum approaches, contemporary museum examples,the history of museology in Turkey, the reasons for the development of museology in Turkeyare presented and contemporary museum examples in Turkey are examined. In the thirdchapter, the history, development, importance and examples of photography museology inTurkey are examined, it is emphasized why photography museology has not developed inTurkey, problems are put forward and solutions are offered.
