Matematik öğretmen adaylarının limit ve süreklilik kavramlarına ilişkin pedagojik alan bilgilerinin değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

OZET MATEMATİK OĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ LİMİT VE SUREKLİLİK KAVRAMLARINA İLİŞKİN PEDAGOJİK ALAN BELGELERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ Bu calısmanın amacı, matematik oğretmen adaylarının fonksiyonlarda limit ve sureklilik konusuna iliskin pedagojik alan bilgilerini arastırmaktır. Arastırma, nitel arastırma yontemlerinden durum calısması ile gerceklestirilmistir. Calısma grubu 2008- 2009 oğretim yılında Marmara Universitesi Ortaoğretim Matematik Oğretmenliği Bolumu son sınıfta okuyan 4 oğretmen adayından olusmaktadır. Calısma grubu belirlenirken 37 oğretmen adayına, fonksiyonlarda limit ve sureklilik unitesi ile ilgili alan bilgisi sınavı uygulanmıstır. Bu sınavın sonuclarına gore, maksimum cesitlilik orneklemesi yoluyla, farklı bilgi duzeylerindeki oğretmen adaylarının arastırmaya katılması sağlanarak, arastırma probleminin ve alt problemlerin farklı boyutlarının ortaya cıkarılması hedeflenmistir. Anket, gozlem, gorusme ve dokuman analizi yontemleriyle arastırmanın verileri toplanmıstır. Ayrıca mikro oğretim yontemiyle oğretmen adaylarının ders anlatımları izlenerek kaydedilmistir. Toplanan bu verilerin analizi sonucunda matematik oğretmen adaylarının fonksiyonlarda limit ve sureklilik konusunda cesitli kavram yanılgılarına sahip olduğu tespit edilmistir. Calısmada, oğretmen adaylarının pedagojik alan bilgileri ve onun alt bilgilerinde eksiklikler olduğu gorulmustur. ASSESSMENT OF PRE- SERVICE MATHEMATICS TEACHERS’ PEDAGOGICAL CONTENT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT LIMIT AND CONTINUITY M.S., Department of Secondary School Mathematics Education The purpose of this study is to search pre-sevice teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge about limit and continuity in functions. The research was performed with case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods.The study group consists of 4 pre-sevice teachers who study their senior year in mathematics teaching in the University of Marmara in 2008-2009 teaching year. In detecting the study group, 37 presevice teachers were applied a subject content examination about limit and continuity unit in functions. According to the results of the examination, it was aimed to appear that research problems and different dimensions of the sub-problems by making the pre-sevice teachers who have different knowledge levels contribute to the study with maximum variability sample way. The data of the study was gathered by the methods of survey, observation, interview and document analysis. Besides, pre-sevice teachers’ lesson explanations were watched and recorded in microteaching method. In the result of the analysis of these gathered data, it is determined that mathematics pre-sevice teachers have some misconceptions about limit and continuity in functions. In the study it is seen that there is something missing in pre-sevice teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge and its sub-information.
