Abstract
ÖZETTÜRKİYE’DE ÇAĞDAŞ FOTOĞRAF İÇERİSİNDE POLİTİK KULLANIM PRATİKLERİBir ifadenin dışavurumu olarak günümüzde etkisini gösteren çağdaş fotoğraf anlayışı, bu tezin genel yapısını oluşturmaktadır. Politik temelli çağdaş fotoğraf çalışmalarının temel alındığı bu tez kapsamında, Türkiye’de yer alan benzer örneklere yer verilmiş, Türkiye’deki durumu ele alınarak farklı ülkelerdeki örneklerle de karşılaştırılması sağlanmıştır. Genel kurallar yerine kişiye has özellikleri barındıran çağdaş fotoğraf anlayışı, özgün biçimsel ve ifadesel anlatımıyla fotoğrafçılara da farklı anlatım dilleri sunabilmektedir. Altı bölümden oluşan bu tezde, öncelikle politik sanat üzerinde durulmuş, bu doğrultuda fotoğraf ile birlikte fotoğraf dışındaki çalışmalardan da bahsedilmiştir. Bölümler içerisinde sanatta propaganda, fotoğraf ideolojisi, avangard sanat anlayışlarındaki politik kullanımlar, deneysel fotoğraf gibi konular tez içerisinde yer almıştır. Politik temelli çağdaş fotoğraf çalışmaları ise uluslararası alanda ve Türkiye’deki örnekler olarak iki ayrı bölümde incelenmiştir. Tezde örnek olarak seçilen çağdaş fotoğraf çalışmalarında politik niteliğe uygun olarak eleştirel bir dil kullanan, sorgulayan, sistem eleştirisi yapan, çevresel etkilerden, sosyal etkilere, sosyal ve dinsel baskılara kadar farklı alanlardan örneklerin seçilmesine özen gösterilmiş, bu anlayıştaki çalışmalara tezde yer verilmiştir.
ABSTRACTGENERAL KNOWLEDGEPOLITICAL USE PRACTICES WITHIN CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY IN TURKEYAs an influential form of expression, the concept of contemporary photography constitutes the general theme of the present study. Similar examples from Turkey are provided and compared with other cases from different countries within the scope of this thesis, which concerns political contemporary photographic works. More concerned with personal features rather than general rules, the concept of contemporary photography present different ways of expression to photographers with its original, formal and expressive function. In this thesis, which consists of six chapters, the primacy was given to political art along with photographical and non-photographical works. Chapters pertain to topics such as propaganda in art, ideology of photography, political uses in avant-garde understandings of art and experimental photography. Political contemporary photographic works are examined in two separate chapters together with examples from Turkey and all over the world. Special attention was given to the examples from different areas employing a critical language in terms of politics, questioning and criticizing the system and pertaining to a range of issues from environmental impacts to social ones, from religious to social oppression in the contemporary photographic works.
