Publication: Seyyid Muradi'nin hayatı ve tarih-i feth-i şikloş adlı eserinin incelemesi
Abstract
Kanunî Sultan Süleyman’ın 1543 yılında çıktığı Macaristan seferine devrin ikinci veziri Rüstem Paşa’nın maiyetinde bizzat katılarak bu seferin tarihini 1545’te kaleme alan Seyyid Murâdî’nin hayatı ve Tarih-i Feth-i Şikloş adlı eserinin incelemesi tezin konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Eser devrin veziriazamı Rüstem Paşa’nın teşvikiyle kaleme alınmıştır. Kendi tanıklıkları ve bazı arşiv kayıtlarını da kullandığı anlaşılan müellif ciddi bir kronoloji eşliğinde vakaları canlı bir şekilde, teferruatıyla ve nisbeten sade bir Türkçe ile nakletmeyi başarmıştır. Eser aynı zamanda bu konuyu esa alarak kaleme alınmış iki önemli Osmanlı kaynağından biri durumundadır.
The life of Seyyid Murâdî, who personally participated in the Hungarian expedition of Suleiman the Magnificent in 1543 in the entourage of Rüstem Pasha, the second vizier of the period, and wrote the history of this expedition in 1545, and the analysis of his work Tarih-i Feth-i Şikloş constitute the subject of this book. The work was written with the encouragement of Rüstem Pasha, the Grand Vizier of the period. The author, who seems to have used his own testimonies and some archival records, managed to convey the events vivid description, in detail and in relatively simple Turkish, accompanied by a serious chronology. The work is also one of the two most important Ottoman sources on this subject.
