Abstract
1871-1922 yılları arasında yaşayan Âvânzâde Mehmed Süleymân, Osmanlının son döneminde yetişmiş bir yazardır. Eczacı olarak bildiğimiz ama çeşitli birçok konuda 200’e yakın eser kaleme almış olan Âvânzâde Mehmed Süleymân’ın derlemeci, tarihçi, edebiyat tarihçisi, eczacı, müellif, mütercim, gazeteci gibi birçok kimliğe de sahip olduğunu söyleyebiliriz. Bu tezde yazarın “Mide Hastalıkları” adlı eseri üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Eser, mide hastalıkları konusunda oldukça faydalı bir metindir. Yazarın eseri, hastalıklar ve ilaç hazırlama yöntemleri ile ilgili ayrıntılı açıklamalar içermektedir. Ayrıca eserin sonunda bir de terimleri açıklayan bir lügatçe bulunmaktadır. Çalışma dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında yazar ve eser hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. İnceleme kısmında “Mide Hastalıkları” adlı eserde geçen tıp terimleri tasnif edilerek verilmiştir. İkinci bölüm çeviri yazı metninden oluşmaktadır. Eserin dili günümüz Türkçesine yakın olmakla birlikte yabancı dillerden alınan diğer kelimeler anlatımı bir nebze de olsa güçleştirmektedir. Bu kelimelerin çoğunluğunu tıp terimleri oluşturmaktadır. Üçüncü bölüm ise dizin bölümüdür. Bu bölümde metnin alfabetik olarak dizini yapılmıştır. Kelimelerin anlamları ve hangi dilden geldikleri belirtilmiştir. Tez, bibliyografya ve eserin orijinal metninin fotokopisi ile sonlandırılmıştır.
Âvânzâde Mehmed Süleymân, who lived between 1871 and 1922, is a writer who grew up in the last period of the Ottoman Empire. We can say that Âvânzâde Mehmed Süleymân, who we know as a pharmacist but has written nearly 200 works on various subjects, also has many identities such as a compiler, historian, literary historian, pharmacist, author, translator, and journalist. Within the context of the thesis, the author's work named “Diseases of Stomach” has been studied. It is rather beneficial work in the sense of stomach diseases. The author's work has contained numerous annotations concerning illnesses and the methods of drug preparation. The thesis has also comprised a glossary at the end of the work. It is quite precise work. The study consists of four parts. In the introduction, the information about the author and his work has given. In the review part, the medical terms in his work has named Diseases of Stomach are present by classifying. The second part includes the translated text. Although the language of the work is close to today's Turkish, other words taken from foreign languages make it somewhat complicated to explain. The majority of these words are medical terms. The third section is the index section. In this section, the text had been index alphabetically. The meanings of the words and the language they originated have been express. The thesis has been conclude with a bibliography and a photocopy of the original text of the work.
