Publication: Emek süreçlerinde dönüşüm ve mühendis emeği
Abstract
hendislik, Mühendis, Emek Süreçleri, Niteliksizleşme, Değersizleşme, İşçileşme, Gerçek Boyunduruk ÖZET Mühendislik mesleği, ortaya çıktığı günden bugüne değin, emek süreçlerindeki değişimlere bağlı olarak bir dönüşümden geçmiştir. Bu dönüşümün mühendislerin gerek çalışma koşullarına gerekse toplumsal kimliklerine yansımaları örnekler üzerinden ele alınarak tartışılmıştır. Zihin emeği kapsamında olan mühendislikte yaşanan değişimlerin, el emeğinin tarihsel süreç boyunca geçirdiği değişimlerle ortak ve farklı olan yanları vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır. Mühendislik alanında genel anlamda saptanabilen değişimlerin yanı sıra, mesleğin sanayileşme süreciyle olan doğrudan bağı nedeniyle, farklı ülkelerin sanayileşme tarihlerine bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan mühendislik görünümleri ve bu bağlamda Türkiye’de mühendisliğin özgül durumu da konu edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada mühendislik alanında yaşanan dönüşümün “işçileşme” kavramıyla açıklanabileceği ileri sürülmüştür. Niteliksizleşme, emeğin değersizleşmesi, işsizlik sorunu gibi olguların işçileşme sürecinin temel göstergeleri arasında sayılabileceği düşüncesiyle, çalışma kapsamında bu kavramlara özel bir vurgu yapılmıştır. Engineering has undergone major changes since its appearance depending on the degree of industrialization and labor processes. This study discusses the impacts of such changes on engineers’ working conditions, as well as, on their public identity. I have emphasized the common and different aspects of the changes for both the white-collar and the blue-collar workers, since transformations in the production process affect both intellectual and manual work. Parallel to the general changes in engineering, I have discussed the developments in this field both in Turkey’s and in other countries’ industrialization processes because engineering is closely and directly linked with industrialization per se. My hypothesis in this study rests on the assumption, that the changes we observe in engineering can be explained by the concept of “proletarization”. I have specifically emphasized concepts like, dequalification, worthlessness of labor and unemployment, presuming that they are the main indicators of the proletarization process.
