Haçlılar'dan Eyyûbîler'e Kudüs (1099-1260)

Abstract

Kudüs, üç semavî din için de çok önemli ve kutsal bir şehir olup insanlık tarihinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Tarih boyunca farklı medeniyetlerin hakimiyetine girmiş olan Kudüs’ün kimliği bu medeniyetlerin şehirde bırakmış oldukları eserlerle şekillenmiştir. Kudüs aynı zamanda Haçlı Seferlerinin odak noktasını temsil etmektedir. I. Haçlı Seferi sonucunda Haçlıların eline geçen Kudüs, 1099 yılından 1187 yılına kadar Haçlıların elinde kalmış ve Kudüs Haçlı Krallığının başkentliğini yapmıştır. Haçlı hakimiyeti altındaki bu dönemde Kudüs’ün idari, sosyo-ekonomik ve kültürel yapısı önemli bir değişim geçirmiştir. Bu dönemde Kudüs, bir Hristiyan şehri kimliği kazanmıştır. 1187 yılında Selâhaddin Eyyûbi tarafından fethedilişiyle birlikte Kudüs’e yeniden Müslüman bir şehir kimliği kazandırma süreci başlamıştır. Şehirde dönüştürülen sembolik yapıların yanı sıra inşa edilen medrese ve hankah gibi eğitim kurumlarının bu sürece önemli bir katkısı olmuştur. Ancak bu dönemde devam eden Haçlı tehdidi ve gelişen siyasi olaylar neticesinde bu dönüşüm süreci zaman zaman kesintiye uğramıştır. Bu tezde, dönemin siyasi ortamı da dikkate alınmış olup Selâhaddin Eyyûbi dönemi merkez alınarak Haçlılar dönemi ve Eyyûbîler döneminde Kudüs’ün idari, sosyo-ekonomik ve kültürel alanlardaki dönüşümü ve bu değişime etki eden faktörler incelenmiştir.

Jerusalem is a very important and holy city for all three Abrahamic religions and has an important place in human history. The identity of Jerusalem, which has been dominated by different civilisations throughout history, has been shaped by the works left by these civilisations in the city. Jerusalem also represents the focal point of the Crusades. Jerusalem, which was captured by the Crusaders as a result of the First Crusade, remained in the hands of the Crusaders from 1099 to 1187 and was the capital of the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem. During this period under the Crusader rule, the administrative, socio-economic and cultural structure of Jerusalem underwent a significant change. During this period, Jerusalem gained the identity of a Christian city. In 1187, with the conquest of Jerusalem by Saladin, the process of restoring Jerusalem's identity as a Muslim city began. In addition to the symbolic buildings that were transformed in the city, educational institutions such as madrasahs and khankahs made a significant contribution to this process. However, this transformation process was interrupted from time to time as a result of the ongoing Crusader threat and the political events that developed during this period. In this thesis, the political environment of the period is taken into consideration and the transformation of Jerusalem in the administrative, socio-economic and cultural fields during the Crusader and Ayyubid periods and the factors affecting this transformation are analysed by taking the Saladin period as the centre.
