Coğrafya dersi amaçlarının sınanması: Balıkesir örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Balıkesir il merkezinde bulunan 11 lisede yapılmıştır. 17 coğrafya öğretmenine, 9 idareciye ve coğrafya dersini alan 451 öğrenciye anket uygulanmış olup, bu kişilerin coğrafya dersine ve dersin amaçlarına ilişkin görüşleri alınmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar bilgisayara aktarılmış ve Excel paket programında değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuçların yüzdelik dağılımları ve frekansları çıkartılarak tablo ve grafikler oluşturulmuştur. Daha sonra ise bu değerler yorumlanmış ve sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin ve öğrencilerin coğrafya dersi amaçlarına yönelik anket sorularına verdikleri cevaplar genel itibariyle örtüşmektedir Öğretmenlerin tamamı ders amaçları arasında Ülkemizin dünya üzerindeki konumu ve önemini öğrenmenin bulunduğunu belirtirken, % 94'ü Vatanını ve milletini seven kişiler yetiştirmenin bulunduğunu belirtmiştir. Öğretmenlerin % 64'ü ders amaçları arasında Sadece bilgili insan yetiştirmenin ve % 40'ı Pusula ve bilgisayar gibi araçları kullanmayı öğrenmenin bulunmadığını belirtmiştir. Öğrencilerin % 74'ü ders amaçları arasında Ülkemizi ve dünyayı tanımanın ve Meydana gelen doğal olayları anlamanın bulunduğunu belirtmiştir. Öğrencilerin % 38'i ders amaçları arasında İnsanların birbiri ile olan ilişkilerini iyileştirmede yardımcı olmanın ve Sadece bilgili insan yetiştirmenin bulunmadığını belirtmiştir. This study has been made in eleven high schools located in the centre of Balıkesir. The research has been applied to 17 geography teachers, 9 directors, and 451 students who take geography lesson and their insghts about geography lesson and its objectives have also been recorded. The results were transferred to computer and evaluated in the Excel programme. By figuring out the percentage and frequencies of the results, grids and tables were formed. After that these values were assessed and results have been reached. The answers given by the students and the teachers relating the goals of geography lesson are approximately the same. While all of the teachers say, the goal of geography lesson is to learn the location and importance of our country in the world, 90 % say, growing up citizens who love their nation and country, 64 % state that the goal of the lesson is just to grow up people with knowledge whereas 40 % claim the lesson has nothing to do with learning how to use devices like computer and compass on the other hand. 74% of the students have stated the goals of the lesson include; knowing about out country and the world and understanding the natural events taking place. 38% of the students, however, have said that the goals of the geography lesson do not include helping with the recovery of people's relations with each other and growing up people with knowledge.
