Publication: İlköğretim okullarındaki 8- 10 yaş grubu öğrencilerin yetenek ve performans profillerinin tespiti ve ekonomik durumlarının buna etkisi
Abstract
DETERMINING THE ABILITY AND PERFORMANCE PROFILES OF 8-10 AGED STUDENTS IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND THE EFFECTS OF ECONOMIC STUATION ON THIS Primary schools should be considered as institutions where the motor skill, ability and performance profiles of children can be exposed. The purpose of this study was to determine aims to determine the standart ability and performance profiles of children in the designated age groups. From Derince and Körfez 1594 students including 823 boys and 771 girls from 2 th (Age 8), 3 th (Age 9) and 4 th (Age 10) classes of 7 schools participated into this research. Height, weight, flexibility, vertical jumping, 50 m velocity tests were applied to those students. The research started in october 2000, ended in june 2001. According to the age group of each, male students had better degrees than female students. With on increase in the age group, on increasing performance were observed in the degrees of both male end female students. However, there was decreasing level on flexibility of both male and female students. According to the age groups, there was significant difference of height, weight, vertical jumping and 50 m velocity tests wherees there was no significance on the flexibility. (P<0.05) Whereas the flexibility tests were not meaningful. There was significant difference among flexibility measurements of female students primary second classes and significant difference among weight measurements of female students at primary third classes, of whom families have low or high income levels. Besides not any significant difference was found according to the income level in oll test batteries.
