The Expectations of Teacher Candidates towards Foreign Language Courses, Curriculum and Teacher Competencies

Abstract

Mevcut çalışmada, Almanca öğretmen adaylarının yabancı dil dersine, Almanca öğretmenliği ders içeriklerine ve öğretmen becerilerine yönelik beklentileri tespit edilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Sonuç olarak, dilsel, kişisel ve mesleki becerileri yeterli olan Almanca öğretmenlerinin yetiştirilebilmesi için lisans pogramında farklı gereksinim ve yeterliliklerin daha yoğun olarak birbiriyle ilişkilendirilmesi ihtiyacı ortaya çıkmaktadır

The present study tries to find out the settings of student teachers of German teacher education department regarding the teaching of foreign languages, the course content, and teacher competencies. Ultimately, it concludes that different requirements and qualifications of the study programme must be more closely linked, so that we eventually graduate German language teachers with adequate linguistic, personal and professional competencies
