Publication: Effectiveness in public and Private Universities in Istanbul
Abstract
Bu çalışmada, yüksek öğretim kurumlarında öğrencilerin ve öğretim üyelerinin kurumlarının etkinliği hakkındaki algılamaları araştırılmıştır. Temel karşılaştırma, devlet ve vakıf üniversiteleri üzerinden yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma, ayrıca, öğrencilerin ve öğretim üyelerinin tatmini, öğrencilerin ve öğretim üyelerini kuruma olan bağlılıkları, ve öğrencilerin kariyerleri ve geleceklerine yönelik umut ve umutsuzlukları incelenmiştir. Örneklemler, devlet ve vakıf üniversitelerinin üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıf olan 413 öğrenci ve 203 öğretim üyesinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın sonucu, öğreciler açısından, üniversitelerdeki algılanan etkinlik kavramını öğrencinin kariyer ve akademik gelişimi, öğrencinin kişisel gelişimi, iletişim, ilişkiler, öğretim üyelerinin gelişimi, karar alma, yapı, usule dair etkinlik, içsel-dışsal çevre boyutlarında ve öğretim üyeleri açısından öğrenci kariyer gelişimi, öğrencinin akademik gelişimi, öğrencini kişisel gelişimi, iletişim, ilişkiler yarpı akademik gelişim olanakları, usule dair etkinlik, çevresel ilişkiler boyutlarıyla ölçülecileeğini göstermiştir.
In this study, perceptions of the students and faculty staff for the effectiveness of their institutions is explored. Mainly comparison is among public and private universities. The study also analyzes the relationships student satisfaction, job satisfaction of the faculty, student and faculty commitment and student’s sense of hopelessness on their lives and careers with perceived organizational effectiveness subdimensions. Sample is composed of 413 university students in their 3rd and 4th years and 203 university faculty staff from private and public universities in Istanbul. Results shows us that, for students, perceived effectiveness dimensions are; student career and academic development, student personal development, communication, relations, faculty development, decision making, structure, procedural effectiveness, external-internal environment are the dimensions to predict the effectiveness of a university and for the faculty, perceived university effectiveness dimensions are; student career development, student academic development, student personal development, communication, relations, structure, academic development facilities, procedural effectiveness, environment relations.
