MEB ilköğretim 6, 7. ve 8. sınıf Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer alan metinlerin söz varlığı açısından değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Türkçe ders kitapları, Türkçe öğretiminin en önemli gereçleri konumundadır. Bu kitapların Türkçenin söz varlığını başarılı bir şekilde yansıtması ve öğrencilerin söz dağarcıklarını geliştirmeye ve zenginleştirmeye katkı sağlaması beklenir. Ancak kitapların yeterliği sıkça tartışılan bir konudur. Yaptığımız çalışmada Türkçe ders kitaplarının söz varlıkları incelenmiştir. “MEB ilköğretim 6, 7. ve 8. Sınıf Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer alan metinler, söz varlığı açısından ne gibi özellikler göstermektedir?” sorusu çalışmanın problem cümlesini oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın giriş bölümünde ‘tez başlığı’, ‘problem cümlesi’, ‘problem durumu’, ‘araştırmanın amaçları’, ‘araştırmanın önemi’ ortaya konmuştur. Birinci bölümde ‘sözcük’, ikinci bölümde ‘söz varlığı ve söz dağarcığı’, üçüncü bölümde ‘Türkçe Öğretim Programına göre sözcük öğretimi’ hakkında bilgiler verilmiş, gerekli alt başlık türleri sınıflandırılmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde araştırmada kullanılan yöntemler, elde edilen bulgular ve bunların değerlendirmeleri yer almıştır. Beşinci bölümde ise araştırma sonuçları ortaya konulmuş ve öneriler sunulmuştur. Araştırmada Milli Eğitim Bakanlığının yayımladığı ilköğretim 6. sınıf (2004 basımlı), 7. sınıf (2000 basımlı) ve 8. sınıf (2002 basımlı) Türkçe ders kitapları esas alınmıştır. Bulgular kısmında yukarıda belirtilen kitaplarda yer alan metinlerin genel dizinleri ile, çeşitli söz varlığı birimleri açısından sınıf bazında dizinler verilmiştir. Yorum kısmında ise bu bulgular ışığında genel ve sınıflar arasında farklı açılardan karşılaştırmalar yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Milli Eğitim Bakanlığının yukarıda belirtilen tarihlerde yayımladığı Türkçe ders kitaplarının söz varlıkları ortaya konmuştur. Sınıflar arasında yapılan karşılaştırmada, sınıf seviyesinin artışı ile metinlerin söz varlığında da belirli oranda bir artış olduğu gözlemlenmiş, ancak bu artışın söz varlığının bazı birimlerinde söz konusu olmadığı, hatta azalmaların yaşandığı görülmüştür.

Textbooks of Turkish courses are the main materials for teaching Turkish language. They are supposed to present successfully the Turkish vocabulary and help pupils to improve and enrich their vocabulary. However, the sufficiency of the textbooks is an ongoing debate. Our study investigates the vocabulary of Turkish textbooks. “What kind of features does the texts, existent in Turkish textbooks of MEB for 6, 7 and 8. degree of elementary education, in terms of vocabulary? This is the problem topic that leads this study. The introduction section displays ‘the title’, ‘the problem topic’, ‘the state of problem’, ‘the aims’ and ‘the importance’ of the research. The first chapter deals with the ‘word’, the second is about ‘vocabulary’, the third is about ‘teaching vocabulary according to Turkish language curriculum’, and each chapter have detailed with sub-titles. The fourth chapter displays the methods of the research, the findings and the evaluations. The last chapter presents the results of our research and the suggestions. This research is based on the Turkish textbooks published by MEB for 6.th class (in 2004), 7.th class (in 2000), and 8.th class (in 2002) of elementary education. The findings section gives the general index of the texts of the books mentioned above, and the indexes per classes, according to vocabulary units. At the commentary section, in the light of the findings, we compared the results about the classes according to some different aspects. As the result of this study, the vocabulary of the Turkish textbooks of MEB mentioned above are exhibited. According to the comparisons between the classes, it is observed that, the vocabulary of the texts increases as the grade increase. However, this increase is not occurring in some units of vocabulary, on the contrary a degree of decrease observed.
